it's such a brilliant fanzine- heartfelt and necessary- if anyone needs any convincing of why indietracks matters to people or why a love of indiepop isn't something to be ashamed of this solid gold artefact d'pop ought to be smacked 'round the back of their heads repeatedly until they understand

pete's created something truly special, a manifesto of sorts that's convinced a jaded old reprobate like me that 'it' (indiepop, life, the universe, you, me, them, everyone, everything, right now) matters and that it's worth it and yadda yadda yadda

the love letter to the deirdres toward the end is just about the most perfect thing

truly a thing of genuine beauty and fire

Word.

The bit about Sophie Deirdre holding Pete's pinkie (sorry if that sounds rude) while she was reassuring him about their gig made me well up a bit.

Also, I think it's a mark of really good music writing if it makes you listen to a song you've heard a hundred times and hear something new in it. There's loads of examples of that for me in this zine.

Aw, I remember him telling me that sweet story. I can't wait to get a hold of this!! What a fool for not acting first thing on Saturday.

What a brilliant zine. I love the fact that it's so personal from start to finish - the piece about Pete's mum and the everpresent Abba sadness. Knowing me Knowing You - sometimes, I just can't get through that whole song. Lyrically, It's overwhelming. The Apelphi feature is great and Marianthi's piece reaches the heart and soul of things. Oh - and the headlines are so apt! How Pete can cover the print/paper cost of these at 50p is quite beyond me.

I'd like a copy. How do I get one?

*blushes profusely*

All this praise is nearly too much, even for an adulation junkie like me. Note the word 'nearly'.

PurpleHippo - when I've got more copies printed up you'll be able to order one from Caramel:
http://www.spiralscratchpop.com/caramel/

When that great moment is upon us I'll post here to let you know.

It appears that the lovely people at Caramel now have BBDB in stock and are accepting orders, so PurpleHippo and anyone else who wants one, get thee there.

The zine will also be available soon from the Fraction Discs mail-order shop in that Sweden. Wooo!

While sadly the first attempt at sending me this stranded somewhere in a post office, I got hold of this finally a couple of days ago (thanks M!). Very nicely put together, Pete, and sincerely pleasant-while-easily-on-the-right-side-of-not-throwaway reading material.

In other words, I enjoyed this very much.

Hee!

Yeah, one day. I've got an album to finish first though!
