I've got 6 days of annual leave left. I might just be able to make it to this!

Excluding bands, last year was a bit short of Brits. In fact fewer than 10 wouldn't be inaccurate. It was absolutely wonderful, though. Great bands, decent venue and friendly hosts.

I'll be there again this year(with 2 more from Nottingham) so you won't be alone.

Jorge, if you are reading this, don't forget to lay on some bar snacks.

freson, good to see you will come again. Don´t worry... we´ll put more bar snacks in the venue. More comments about how to improve the festival are very welcomed.

I don't really feel like travelling all the way to Spain on my own. I've done that several times, but I suppose I'm older and mroe vulnerable nowdays ;-)

I think there'll be lots of people you know there Ray, besides the huge cadre of friendly Spanish folk you see every year at Indietracks too. Chicago friends (Tiny Fireflies), Swedish friends (The Garlands), French friends (Fabien from Anorak Records), German friends (Olaf from Firestation Records) - so it'll have that exciting international lovely coming together feeling. Locally, it looks like Matthew Big Pink Cake may go, Thom from Peru/The Kick Inside, maybe Pete B! Roque's coming. There'll be a number of UK bands there playing too so they'll be around the whole weekend soaking up some Spanish sun (won't be that warm though, will it?). Of course I'm going plus 3 of my Scottish female counterparts, 2 with babies in tow!

Wish I could go, but I know I can't. Only so much cash to splash around, sadly.

Nope, it won't be thaaaat warm, beware! Without wanting to spoil your sunny ideas of Spain, do keep in mind that officially it'll still be winter when the festival takes place.. of course, a Spanish winter usually involves quite a lot of sun (and certainly more than a British one), but it is not impossible that it may rain.. so do keep that in mind when packing your bags! Really looking forward to seeing you all here! :)

Yeah, that's probably a good comparison. Though I think it's colder at Indietracks at night even in July than here in Madrid on March!! Then again, it's on an open site, whereas 'our' festival takes place inside a venue, and so does the dancing afterwards till late.
It did rain one of the days of the Madrid Poprest last year, now that I think about it. But as I said, since everything happens indoors, it wasn't too annoying. In any case, we'll be checking the weather man and keep you informed nearer the date. :)

I've bought a ticket and paid for (most of) the transport!

And Jennifer, someone said to me once re: the weather in Madrid Seis meses inverno, seis meses infierno ;-)

EDIT

And I've booked accommodation! Y'all have to be my friends now!

Fantastic, roundbitsofplastic !!!
Any doubts, problems, wishes or whatever please ask.

And we offer all of you another proposal for enjoying Madrid Popfest 2012 before it happens.

Yesterday we oficially released the Madrid Popfest 2012 album in bandcamp with a song of all bands who will be playing in the festival. In addition there are more songs of bands that are participating in presentation parties.
