Re: Music small talk, music big talk

I think for the first time in history*, we're going through an age where the 30+ generation are saying that modern music made by young people isn't loud, energetic or wild enough, rather than the reverse.

That sounded more profound in my head.

Re: Another new 6music show that simply isn't alternative en

I know what you mean about Edith Bowman; compared to, say, Cerys Matthews' show on Sunday morning, the things she plays are spectacularly bland. However, there are still plenty of other interesting things on there (Cerys and the aforementioned Jarvis Cocker and Tom Ravenscroft shows, for a start), s...

Re: The Football

Fitting that a day of unparallelled Premier League non-trickle-down heavy spending, heavily trailed and covered by Sky, that has nothing to do with results has become one of the biggest events in the football calendar. http://blog.footballrascal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Redknapp-car-window.jpg

What a cat. Is she affectionate? Something I've heard about those 'designer cats' is that they can be a bit aloof, as they're genetically closer to wild cats than they are to domestic moggies. Happy to be corrected though.

This is really sad news. I'm listening to Grass Canons as we speak, with a lump in my throat. RIP.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jul/18/the-knowledge-archive-special There can't be that many Pete Greens with a huge interest in football, gothery (I presume), who would articulate those interests to a site such the Guardian. Can there? I need answers here. Um, er... oh yes - I was asking ...

If your club is to get ignominiously relegated in the way Coventry have been, it's probably best to have a manager with a massive ruddy face who looks like an East End pub's resident hard man. Just googled him. Bloody hell! http://images.football365.com/11/10/800x600/Coventry-Andy-Thorn_2659563.jpg...

Cor, that is really good. I can't wait for it to get warmer so that I can listen to it in the environment that it deserves. There is a definite Elephant 6 vibe to it. It also reminds me of a less kooky Lilys.

I'll be there earlyish too. Feel pretty grotty, but it's not too far from my work, so it'd be ridiculous not to come along for a bit at least.
