Re: The Whedonverse

I'm rather glad the series is getting canceled. There have been a few good episodes, and the last one (the Sierra episode) was fantastic, but for me he hasn't done enough to off-set the creepiness of the premise with actual critique to make the show not exploitative at it's core. It seems he's been ...

Re: True Blood

I'm surprised that someone mentioned that the books are more lighthearted and funny. When I watch the show, I usually only laugh at unintentionally funny things, like the time Bill sprung up from the ground and he and Sookie went at it, dirt-covered-bum and all. . That was me, and they are. That's ...

Re: Trailer Park Boys

I've just been re-watching my Trailer Park Boys dvds. They're doing a road show all round Canadialand, and I'm sossososososos tempted to drive up to Vancouver to see them.

I'm fond of Steve French, myself.

sadfangface.
Nah, it's just three left in the season, though I'm sure it'll be back next season.

I might not watch it though. The series is really making me angry. I won't spoil the fun for everyone else though. Sigh.

I fully rocked this Debbie Gibson 80s look from ages 11-12.

Re: True Blood

Yeah, the books are told first person from Sookie's viewpoint, and she's a very charming and funny character, so I hope they bring that into the series a lot more. Also, they're introducing Eric Northmann in the next episode, and he is hands-down my favorite male character from the books partly beca...

Re: True Blood

See, it's interesting...I thought the accents were weird too, but my friend's cousin lives in Monroe, LA, which is supposed to be right near Bon Temps, and she was like "yeaaaaah, we doooo sound that way...even tha caaaajun guy"....so, i dunno. And melodrama? Yeah. The books are less melodramatic, b...

True Blood

http://blog.cleveland.com/pdextra/2008/05/medium_trueblood.jpg Anyone else watching this on HBO? It's by Alan Ball, he of Six Feet Under fame. I have very mixed feelings about the show, because I'm a psychohugeobsessive fan of the Charlaine Harris books that it's based on, and so far...well, there ...

Re: My Super Sweet 16: Surrealism on a brand new level

There is almost nothing - NOTHING - in the whole wide world that makes me sure we're heading for an apocalypse as truly or fully as My Super Sweet 16. I watch the show and feel completely filthy inside afterwards....yet I keep watching. It's compulsive.

I don't think it's just time, I think it's partly his car accident. It messed up his face and took him out of acting for awhile. Like Mark Hamil.

Hi-oh! Just a little note that I merged "what on tv made you cry today?" and "stuff on tv that makes you want to cry your eyes out" because they're all the same-like.

Carry on.
