Have just finished Viv Albertine's book, which - as i think has been previously mentioned around here - is rather wonderful.

Re: Indietracks 2015 Photos and Memories

The Best Thing Tigercats – A band absolutely at their peak, highlight of the festival for me. Great Things Martha - despite the messy sound at the start. Feature – best new discovery of the festival for me Steamroller Crush – Judging by the crowds I assume at some point the steamroller will move to ...

Re: The Football

Well it makes Leeds' defeat to Bradford look a bit better now. After all we have 10 men and a work experience manager - not a team of internationals and Mourinho. In other news i've still scored more goals at the Abbey Stadium than Van Persie or Falcao* *Assuming half-time penalty shoot outs count.

They're building a pub under a pub !

Shame - very few centrally located venues left - everything seems to be moving East

Re: Ripley Premier Inn

How much does the Travelodge in Alfreton cost, and how long does it take to walk to the site? My room there was £94 this year (the non-refundable rate, booked in September). Takes about 40 minutes to walk to Butterley Station. We paid £190 for 3 nights in family room - booked in October. Bit more t...

Flyers were handed out at the (excellent) London gig last night.

Not sure if it means that Tigercats and Making Marks are supporting on whole tour, which would be ace.

Re: LDN 7-10 Jan - The 4th Annual Fortuna POP! Winter Sprint

I was a touch worried that with a lot of the Fortuna Pop hardy perennials - Allo Darlin, Shrag, Hayman, Comet Gain - missing from the lineup, that this might have been a fallow year for the winter sprinter. Top marks for Withered Hand, Flowers and Joanna Gruesome who were all fantastic, but Spook Sc...

Nobody should ever play for longer than an hour. Although Herman Dune in 2011 seemed like they were on for about a week.
Yep - there are very few bands who can play longer than an hour without my attention wandering.
An hour is 15 songs - thats plenty.

Re: Shout Out Louds

I saw them in London last week and half-heartedly looked for a thread afterwards. They were great and had a very 'up for it' excitable crowd for a band who seem to have very little profile in the UK. Wasnt sure if half the crowd were Swedish or not but they have a good half a dozen great songs. Toni...
