Hi, Ian - Claire's husband here. Thank you all for the lovely comments about Claire and SDT. It's been such a shock but all the messages of love and support and people sharing memories of Claire and her bands (she had soooooo many, including: Wisconsin Death Trip, SDT, Navvy, Nature Set, Bon Bon Clu...

Re: Velvet Underground

a while ago we made a list of all of our possesions (for insurance reasons) and we found that we had way more copies of the Velvet Underground and Nico than two people should have!

3 x vinyl
5 x CD
1 x tape
1 x 8 track cartridge (we don't have an 8 track player!)

Classic films which modern technology would render pointless

i was watching Wayne's World recently and i couldn't help but think the plan to get a record exec to see Cassandra's band was a bit long winded. in the film they borrow a bunch of TV cameras, hack into a satelite and broadcast a live performance of the band directly into the telly in the back of mr ...

Re: You can never be too pure: a Sebadoh thread

The hitherto mythical Top Of The Pops appearance Wow, I never knew about this and consider myself a fan. Thanks for that! Was Flame a big hit in the UK? i think it was their biggest selling single here but i wouldn't call it a big hit. it was the best thing that was on TOTP around that time though

Re: You can never be too pure: a Sebadoh thread

I remember seeing 'em at the infamous Courtney 'n' Cocaine Reading Festival gig around this period - it was a shattering performance, mainly because I was in love with Bakesale and here they (well, mainly an off his face Lou Barlow) were butchering these songs that I was so in love with. i saw them...

Re: Flying Saucer Attack

i'm pretty sure i saw Flying Saucer Attack at Reading Festival in 1995 where they played on the new bands stage.

i'm also fairly sure that Super Furry Animals were on just before or just after and my 15 year old inebriated mind was having problems with FSA and SFA being so near each other!

Re: The Penny Licks

Hello, it's been a while, i got distracted with doing other stuff (and forgot my log in details so i have a new name, rest assured i am the same Ian as before) but we have recently re-started work on The Penny Licks. We now have a whole batch of songs in the works and they are shaping up nicely, all...
