Re: the go-betweens

http://rileyrecords.blogspot.com.au/2016/05/who-will-remember-your-tunes_6.html?m=1 Beautiful, beautiful words by the songwriter of the Apartments. I came across his blog many years ago and I may have read this wonderful post about a hundred times. Then his post disappeared but it's up on his blog a...

Re: the go-betweens

10 whole years! I still remember the exact moment when I heard about his passing...

A pop genius and one of my music heroes. I am sure there will be tears at Bush Hall tonight.

Everlasting love and adoration.

Re: the go-betweens

Achhh, I have so much to post about the go-betweens and AMAZING Lindy Morrison but life and bloody work always get in the way... Everett True posted this a few weeks back, http://www.collapseboard.com/features/columns/why-do-you-like-the-go-betweens/ Spot on!! I can't agree more. BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFU...

Re: Glasgow Pop!South Weekender 13th - 15th Feb 2015

Brilliant lineup so far! I used to travel to Glasgow and visit my friends every 3 months. The last time was in 2010 :-(
I will most probably be there...with our 3 year old one!

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

I think they were my favourite Saturday / Sunday headliners ever! I'm not even a Hidden Cameras fan really, but they absolutely won me over live. Gruff Rhys was up there with the best things I've ever seen at Indietracks, I think he's an absolute genius. Obviously whoever they pick won't please eve...

Re: the go-betweens

I think you are right, Daniel. Their last ever london show was indeed at the s.b.e. I had a ticket but didn't go to. Don't ask me why...I regret it to this day :-( Both the Astoria and the Barbican shows were amazing, beautiful, moving and life-changing! The Barbican event (2004) was indeed especial...

Re: The Chills/Martin Phillipps

Didn't know that, Andy. Increadible performance by the go betweens that night, wasn't it? - one of my top 5 gigs ever! 2003 was one of the toughest and most stressful years of my life and that show helped me see things in a different way. I could go on forever about how amazing, life-affirming and l...

Re: The Chills/Martin Phillipps

Only 4 days left till the gig!! The Chills updated their fb page with some lovely pictures of the UK's summer sky. That means they are here in London. Not since the unbelievable gig of the go betweens at Astoria in 2003 and The Aislers Set a couple of years ago have I anticipated/been as excited abo...

Re: And eeeeeeeeeeeee! some more

What's happening in certain parts of the world right now is appalling :-( I feel the need to comment on it, yet at the same time, think that my post will be pretty much irrelevant. I don't know...I can't even read the posts and shares about Palestine my Greek friends are putting up on facebook now. ...

Re: The Chills/Martin Phillipps

Miracles do happen and life is beautiful, sometimes... I can't believe I am going to see the Chills! Martin Phillips is one of my music icons. A tortured and troubled soul but also an amazing songwriter. One of the best of his generation. So glad he got over his problems; he is alive and kicking, wr...

Ian, that was a wonderful gig. The new Understudies songs are amazing! Intricate guitars, lovely voices, perfect pop. Chorusgirl is my new indiepop crush! Poignant and sharp = total pop power! They remind me of mighty Lush and The Heart Throbs. I had to leave half way through the Flatmates set to cat...

A big, big thanks for the weekender, Trev! I couldn't do friday and saturday as I was babysitting but sunday's gig was AMAZING! Totally blown away by Night Flowers and Chorusgirl. Night Flowers remind me of Pale Saints and the early Pains - beautiful, fuzzy, warm songs. Loved their singer's performa...
