Isn't it marvellous. One of the best shows of the last (picks abitrary figure) 20 years I reckon.

It really is. It's one of those shows that demands repeated viewing because (and I know it's the old cliché) each time you watch it something else stands out as being funny.

One of my top three sitcoms of all time alongside Frasier and The Honeymooners.

You can watch it over and over and over and catch new things each time.

And nearly every single character is great. Every time I try and pick a favorite, it changes. There's no way I can decide between Tobias, Buster, Gob, George Michael, Barry, Michael...

Gob was never on "Card Sharks."

I never watched it, but with my unhealthy obession with Michael Cera, I may have to check it out.

Well, he was like 14 and 15 when the show was filmed, so be prepared to feel kind of weird about yourself. He looks young and IS young, but is awesome and adorable.

"I think I might be."

I already feel weird about this crush. I am technically old enough to be his grandmother. Maybe seeing him in the statutory range will cure me of this ill.

That is a raging untruth. It's fine to not like it, but I can name probably 20 sitcoms airing right now that are decidedly unfunny.

I mean, did you even know there was a "Jeff Foxworthy Show?" "Tyler Perry's House of Payne?" "Friends?"

but you're expectations are going to be pretty low with 'the jeff foxworthy show'

with a sitcom featuring david cross, hank kingsley and justine bateman's brother my expectations were way high, off the scale

the equation for arriving at the scientific fact that this is the 'least funny sitcom ever' takes expectation as a major factor in it's working out in the margins as well as laffs (from big yocks to brief feint smile of amused recognition), excessive mugging to camera (AD scores high, but that's not good) and desire to punch the whole cast repeatedly for wasting my time (off the scale)

C'mon!

I can't think of many funnier sitcom moments than Tobias doing his acting class lesson with Carl Weathers. I got the giggles real bad.

"I'm a different breed of cop. I'm from the street, and I'm the laaaaaaaaaaaaast guy you want to meet in a darkened alley."

it's not exactly singing to me off the page

jeffrey tambor was in the greatest sitcom ever (no, not 'the ropers') and seeing him mug his way desperately through this was just painful

also david cross was much funnier in 'just shoot me'

I'm not going to change anyone's mind here, but I really don't get anyone finding this funny

I'm with you on this. Can't find much to laugh about at all. Then again I find Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm passable ways to spend half an hour and no more, so you may not want to hear my opinion on the world of American sitcoms.

what I should've said is I don't get people who find this funny, especially people I find in any other circumstance perfectly sane, sexy, smart, sleek of thigh and apple-cheeked

I just don't get it

By the by, rumors have it they're making a movie. Bateman and Tambor have confirmed in interviews at least that Hurwitz and Howard approached them about the idea.

Finished watching Season 3 last night. Man, once they knew the season was being cut short due to cancellation, they really just went to town. It just got stupider and stupider, but managed to still be one of the cleverest, funniest comedies I've ever seen.

Every time I see this there's some new reference I pick up on, but even without the clever clever in-jokes, even the dumbest of stuff is funny: the Saddam lookalikes, the Judge Reinhold show (with William Hung and the Hung Jury!), the Mary Poppins attacks, the fight between George Michael with a jetpack and Tobias dressed as a mole (while trying to also play George Senior...).

And that final scene, while I don't want to give anything away, is fucking genius. And I mean that in the proper sense of the word.

I was highly dubious about the film, but I'm thinking now it might be a really inspired idea.

Movie talk is up in the air now because apparently Michael Cera doesn't have any interest in doing one.
