That's made me soooo happy in the middle of a despair filled work day. I'm beaming with smiles :-D

Question. Would it be worth the producers of the Sarah Records documentary trying to get a screening in Sheffield?

I'd go!

I can think of a fair few people who would go but I'm not sure if it would be enough. How many would need to go to make it worth it? Maybe as part of Doc Fest would be best?

Yeah! I reckon. I've been to stuff like that at the showroom where half a dozen people have turned up. And it's not like the belle and Sebastian thing a few weeks ago was well attended so why not?

Sheffield City Council, in their infinite wisdom, are wanting to tear down part of the Cultural Industries Quarter, including art spaces, rehearsal rooms and at least one recording studio. The developers concerned presumably want to build shitty, expensive flats for unspeakable pricks to live in.

There is a petition against the plans here, or you can object on the council website here.

'Cos if there's one thing Sheffield has a shortage of it's shitty, expensive flats (empty, usually) for unspeakable pricks to live in.

I shall sign or click or whatever when I've got a minute.

Just been looking through the university's 'Campus Masterplan'. Mostly it looks good. I'm all for more green spaces and fewer car parks. The idea for a square in front of the Arts Tower is great. An end to the pedestrian nightmare of the University Roundabout and Western Bank, yes please. The proposed new square adjacent to the IC could be good. A new park around St George's Church, lovely. That'll be just the thing for my lunchtimes.

I'm just a bit concerned that the plans don't seem to include the University Arms. Do you think we should chain ourselves to the bar now?

Calling all Sheffields…
WE'RE GETTING OUR OWN TV CHANNEL
http://www.sheffieldlive.org/launch-dat ... announced/
It's on Channel 8 freeview and starts Tuesday.

I've just watched the showreel. Some of it looks terrible ('The Farm' - "…it's a little bit wet and windy, but we're going to find out what's really going on down at the farm' - be still my beating heart), but some of it look entertainingly daft and amateurish and…

THERE WILL BE SPACE FOR LOCAL BANDS TO WHORE THEMSELVES TO THE MAN!

(Check out the guy at two minutes three - you haven't got much to beat)

Anyway, string up the bunting, cut up the ticker tape, etc.

So I come here to post and 6Music drop some Pupl. COINCINCIDENCE?

My friends and brilliant FOODERS The Vegan Grindhouse are popping up to sheffield for some jazz festival or something, dunno if the general public can get in but if you want excellent handmade vegan burgers, organic hotdogs, chilli and all kinds of good stuff you should check them out. They also have gluten free options for all you *hypochondriacs out there.

*Just messin'!
I am struck speechless by the nape of your neck.

Is anyone going to Schwervon/Extra Lives/Alex at the Rocking Chair tonight? Tiredness, lack of funds and fact that the promoter has never been to a single thing I've ever put on is making me lean towards "no", but I may be persuaded otherwise.

Hello.

Do any of you have a colour printer? And if so would you be able to print some posters for the comedy thing at the Rutty next week for me please? Only 5-6 would be needed. There's pints in it for you (after pay day).
