That REPEAT zine was (and probably still is) based in Cambridge too, but I could never really get along with it, I think I was born too old to put up with the manics.

They were yeah, well i remember always reading about them playing the Boatrace, that and Jason's amazing hair.

Freeboy were ACE. I bought their 'best of' on cd for about 10p a year or so and i don't think i ever listened to it, i'll have to dig that out tonight.

Erm, Cambridge, i went there last year for the football, we lost 1-0.

I've got the Freeboy and Rocketship 7"s, and also a split with Mercedes on Stupidcat (which was my joint favourite 7" ever along with Comet Gain's Jack Nance Hair for a few months back in 1998).

I nearly typed 'Hey Mercedes' then, which would've been quite a different split.

Anyway - they were really really fun.

The Mercedes split had a whole bunch of different hand painted sleeves didn't it. I have a couple of different versions just picked up cheap in second hand record shops over the years. The CD has about 25 tracks on, i guess it's loads of session tracks and some live stuff as aside from the 3 7"s and a song on a Snakebite City Comp. i don't think they actually released anything else.

Erm, Cambridge, i'll probably go again for the football this year, we'll probably lose again.

They are! (Although I believe there are technically two Roadside Poppies now, one based in Cambridge and one based in Copenhagen.)

After a quick bit of research from the Cambridge web Martin from roadside poppies works in Copenhagen's now on the collider thing. Puncture Repair Kit rule the indie pop scene here now.

I used to live in cambridge, but I left because it was a tiny bit rubbish.

I was listening to Hofman's album 'Keep your recipts and deny everything' just the other day. I'd happily send a CDR of it to anyone who wanted one.

I heard there's some kind of "hype" surrounding this singer:

I was meant to work with her - but...hmmm...that's another boring story.

She doesn't seem to have anything to do with Cambridge as far as I can tell.
