I've never picked one up or tried one, although I've known people who have played them. I'm so stupid! I'm not such a gearhead bass player, anyway.
I have a cheap-o silvertone Fender knock off that I'm still playing. I should probably graduate now that I've gotten better, but I kinda like the thing. It's got a great, cheap "twang" sound that I'm getting used to.

If you find an extra, get me one, too!
I play a cheap Silvertone / Fender knock-off. I was really embarassed about it, but now I kinda like it. I've got a really cool custom pedal that was made locally that makes it sound really bad ass. And the cheap thing has a certain "twang" that I find endearing.
When I play a note and let it sustain, the last part of the note goes through this transformation that is kinda cool.
It kind of makes me feel like when I was little and my mom made me wear these polyester plaid pants to school and everyone made fun of me but I didn't really care.
