Hello! Popfest is in the heart of quintessential New England (if it's still in Amherst or North Hampton or wherever it is) and you should have some lovely foliage at that time. I highly recommend winding your way up to ME/VT if you want more of the au natural. I suppose you'll land in Boston? Well, Boston is tiny and can be "done" in a day, if you want to see anything historical. I dunno, walk around Beacon Hill should cover it. I can get you into all the Harvard Museums for free, so you should check those out.

You must go to a real NE diner and eat pancakes with real maple syrup (though the Canadians will roll their eyes at me for saying this, VT has good trees too!) and have blueberry pie and chicken croquettes. Oh man, I'm starving!

Feel free to pick my brain for details!

Lynsey, I think you should land in New York.

That Western Mass. area is really half-way between Boston and NY, so I say land wherever you get the cheapest flight! What's the time frame? Oh, it would be lovely spending girly time w/you guys. Yes, squibooty, your presence is required!

Holiday = eating. Case closed. And those natives showing you the sights get to buy into this rule as well.

Hello!
I was out with impabafree last night and we're plotting on how we can get to New England Popfest cheap.
Is the Mega Bus gross? Maybe we could take the bus over and then a bunch of us could rent a car from Boston and drive out to wherever it is. But she says that no road transportation should have a toilet in it...
But I think we're coming somehow.
Lyns, squirrelbouty, if it's much cheaper to fly into New York, we can all take the gross bus and then it will be a little less gross. Or maybe we can justify renting a car at that point.
I hope it works out so that you guys can come!

I thought of the rental car thing, too, and I'm not opposed to a bus, even a gross bus.

And it would be cheap if a bunch of us could share a room, too.

I want to come! Yeah! But I need to figure out work stuff.

If I take out the car seat, my car fits 5 semi-comfortably. Get the Fun Wah (aka chicken bus) to Bean Town and I'll drive us all out to No. Hampton. That way we'll have a car and can take a "day trip"--maybe we can even rent something self-catering. What weekend is it? I'll investigate.

Road trip!!

I can't take the Monday off of work. Maybe I can just come and hang for Friday and Saturday?

Can someone make sure no bands I like play on Sunday, please?

Dangit. This is the weekend of my niece's third birthday, and I totally missed her party and everything last year because I was in New York. I think there are plans to take her to Disney.

Maybe next year for me!

Poop! I mean, yay for your adorable niece and her big #3, but poop for us!

Come up some other weekend anyway. How long will Lyns be staying, for instance?

I'm gonna research hotel rooms in No. Hampton y'all. Stay tuned.

poop seconded!

if i can afford the flight, then i should stay for at LEAST ten days to make it worthwhile. i'm keeping an eye on them just now and the prices seem to have gone up a bit since i first looked (from ~£300 to ~£360, which puts them just outside my price range, but hopefully they'll go down again.
