Off to Brussels for a weekend in August. Any recommended places to visit or eat or drink at please, Anorak?

I am sure a certain anorak person can guide you much better than me but was there last September and the best bar second to none I found was
Moeder lambic. Micro brews from around the world including lesser know Belgian stuff and the cheese range also very good. Very friendly bar staff too. Note that they have two locations - this one is better.

Maybe a visit to the Brewery Museum?

There was a brewery open on the Grand Place but I think it may be closed now. It was called Les Brasseurs. Or how about drinking Juliper out of litre skulls? very tacky but worth a peep.

As for food places I need to check my guide to the places we went but it was the usual standard fare i.e. Mussels and Frites!

Brilliant, thanks Tom!

Hmm, anyone know what it's like for veggie food...?

I don't have much to add, but the musical instrument museum in Brussels is amazing and well worth a visit. Belgian fruit beer is pretty much the only type I like and if you get the chance to try Chapeau Banane, I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Just be nice to me.

L'Archiduc bar is a little gem - an odd little Art Deco cocktail bar with a bit of a dingy facade http://www.archiduc.net/

The Cantillon brewery is pretty cool. It's where they make super-sour lambic beer, which is a bit of an acquired taste. http://www.cantillon.be/

I'd also recommend the Comic Strip Museum, though there is a heavy slant towards Belgian comics. http://www.comicscenter.net/en/home

I'm going for the first time in a few months but here are two threads from a beer nerd forum that I usually check for recommendations before going anywhere!

This is all brilliant - thankyou all ever so much! x

It's not quite happened with me and Belgian beer. I'm hoping this visit will help me get it.

This was the beer of my last trip. I am a sucker for Lambics especially Gueuze as well as the Saison beer style. Heading back to Belgium later this year so let me know what you find Pete.
