Portable TVs

Post by Elvistears » Mon Dec 10, 2007 5:18 pm

Are portable TVs something of a rarity, or an outmoded concept? I was thinking of getting one for a Christmas present, and they have some on Amazon, but every so often its nice to see it before buying it, isn't it?

My request for a small-screen (say 7-8") portable TV seemed to dismay and confuse both Curry's and Comet - they didn't understand what I was talking about.. personally I'd expect that sort of shop to stock them.

Where can I get one of these from? Would anyone recommend a particular brand? Preferably not too expensive!

Thanks...I fear this may be too obscure a question, but any help would be good!

I think there may be a bit of a secret crisis in the portable/pocket TV market at the moment, in the UK anyway. They start switching off the analog broadcasts next year, so you'd have to somehow have your pocket TV and a set-top digital TV box thing.
