totally lovely! beautiful and simple packaging and totally easy to listen to over and over!

looks like you're coming home with me!

also, I ordered mine from stitch-stich and it came really fast - great service! yow!

I don't have a favorite song on it yet, tho - prolly because I keep listening to the whole thing and then starting it again - makes me excited for their second album to come out later this year, too! It's so good to finally have a batch of their songs for my ipod now too!

listening to this album just makes me feel lighter - and I love the title now that I understand where it comes from.

nice work!
yow!
being nice IS a political act!

I've *still* not managed to give this a full listen even though I received it last Friday. It's a very pretty package, with the chords and the lyrics :)

something not mentioned yet, which people wouldn't know unless they get as far as clicking on the label links, is that the album is £5 postpaid in the uk direct from either label. for a factory pressed cd that's (unfortunately) unusual. so basically this album is not only great but at a nice price.

Oh wow. The album arrived today and I've been playing it this evening and oh, wow. Did someone mention it sounds like The Receptionists record? It does, in the most beautiful, sparse, evocative way. It sort of breaks you into a million pieces and puts you back together again. And it captures the spirit of their live shows perfectly, which I thought impossible. Listening to it is like being part of it. I'm blown away.

Absolutely stunning set in Cardiff on Sunday night. I picked up their album too - can't wait to find time to play it.

Just had the best nine nights of my life playing with the Middle Ones on tour. They're the nicest guys and every song of theirs is fantastic! I miss their faces so much I had to set the background of my phone to a photo of them hugging.

i've always found "heterosexuality is a construct" ultimately unsatisfying cos it raises more questions than it answers, but i guess that's the whole point. catchy song.

That was a pretty bad mess of the song title. Fixed it now though!

The Middle Ones were stunning at Future Pop in Amsterdam last night. They started two hours later than I expected, which resulted in me listening to a DJ/VJ playing very loud, generic electropop for two hours ALL BY MYSELF. I feared for a long time it would be a one-person-crowd for their show, but by the time they took the stage there was a nice couple of handfulls of people watching. How lovely are those voices together? I especially like it when they get a little bit louder, and then the voices blend, and you just go ahhhhhhhhh. Great! I chatted to Anna (and shortly Grace) afterwards like a little fanboy. What lovely girls!

I posted this in the BFF thread, but it can't harm to post it here as well:

good-o, was thinking just last week it'd be nice to have a digital copy of the 10". such a great record.

glad they took the three demo eps off their bandcamp, definitely a distraction from their far superior subsequent work & no doubt the better songs'll be re-recorded.

understand the new album's ready to be mastered (really hope that it's released in identical packaging -- different artwork obviously but as it's kind of 'part two' it'd be nice for the packaging to match. i may be the only person who cares about that sort of thing!) & before that there's a download-only ep coming soon, "courage" + three new songs.

edit: looks like it's just "courage" + a cover of "drops" by the balky mule. this is great, though:
