The guy who sand 'You Can Hide..' was the chap out of Dorotea. Steph, Leigh Anne, and Helen Shrag also featured, as did Naemi from Liechtenstein.

was that when everything fell apart after they had done "ballad of the band" ?
Me and my friend even left the gig (shock horror) much as we love Comet Gain ... it's no fun seeing a band murder their own songs ...

I don;t really remember what they played, I was fairly refreshed, myself.

I just remember it being noisy and songs falling apart and no one really knowing what was happening. Y'know, a Comet Gain set.

I was at that one. They were bloody awful. I'm not a massive fan, but I've seen them do a few good shows in the last 18 months in London. Thought they were great at the Scala at the 15th Birthday thing.
not really here

Comet Gain were absolutely AMAZING! This gig was the best I've seen the band!

There was something invigorating about feeling the rest of the people who were there, especially the fans in the front, enchanted by the band. Popshows like it make me feel alive and passionate about the music I love and cherish.

It dawned on me, after that gig, how honest David and Come Gain are! No effort to look cool or show off - just true and honest to themselves! Very few bands have this quality nowadays.

Loved the new bass player-hope he is a permanent addition.

David was on fire!! his banter with the front row fans was incredible :-)
I slice the surface here beside you/Lungs filled liquid yell I love you/Sound moves further underwater
Deep and dark my submarine bells groan in greens and grey/Mine would chime a thousand times/To make you feel okay..

Same here.
The only issue for me was the lack of Rachel Evans. Wish they'd do another show just like that when she gets better so the world can return to its "natural order"...

They were on top form. Generous too: even though the pissed girl annoyed the entire venue calling out for Fists in the Pocket throughout the whole set, they played it at the end anyway. Plus an encore by public demand :)

I think Jon was otherwise engaged and the bloke from The Clientele was just helping out on bass, though.

that. it's one of the things i love about seeing them. no fake-ass bullshit. i also think david's stage banter is alone worth the price of a ticket. always amazing <3

Thanks for the setlist. I was going to ask about that. It's nice to hear what's going on.

I'd want to see Rachel too, but I quite like that they'd do a song like "Fingernailed For You" even when she's not there - as though what's on record is just one version of the songs and they needn't always be the same.

Wasn't it a bloke? it sounded like a bloke? Either way, it's fair enough as he/she has been a Comet Gain fan since the 90s. That is a long time.

Agreed that they were on top form on Friday, the other couple of times i've seen them without Rachel i've felt something was missing, but it didnt seem like that on Friday.
and that snare drum, that drum roll
means we've got a winner

ha. yeah there was a bloke too. they worked as a team, moving to different positions to maximise the amount of irritated people. I'm hoping they were at least on something, it'd be disappointing if people that twattish in their natural state listened to CG. I didn't fight the punk wars* for the likes of them.

*at all.

The new album is the business. Nothing new, but then why change owt if it's brilliant anyway?

From what I've heard live it sounds great. Anyone here go to the two recent shows at the buffalo bar and the lexington? the latter was a real treat.
Funny how a few years back I asked the noble people of this forum what was the best CG album and know they're my favourite band. Oh how time swoons.
