The Mai 68s

Post by boney » Tue Jan 08, 2008 7:23 pm

A lovely bunch of Leicesters with a bit of a jangle and lovely Julie (out of The John Sims and The Kooky Monster) on vocals. Not been going that long but have finally got some decent quality demos recorded.

They're looking for gigs, shout up if anyone fancies putting them on! (Esp Nottinghams)

People! This band has a long line of POP heroes within its ranks. I urge you to vote for them.

Craig - any new recordings yet?

EDIT: Duh. I should read your post properly.

Craig - do you have an email address for Julie/the band? I fucking love those new songs. I want to do an interview and see if they'd like to put a track on a cd.

Brilliant, aren't they? I haven't stopped listening to those four tracks since I got into work two hours ago.

Kooky Monster were ace. And so are these.

Mmm. Excellent.

Remind me a bit of Black Tambourine in places.

How does one 'rip' a song from there?

One uses a free sound recorder, such as the excellent Wavepad, trims the silence off the ends and saves the resulting file to one's hard drive in mp3 format.

Oh, I can't be arsed to do that. I'll just get Julie to email me the mp3s.

Anyway, someone should put this band on. Immediately.

I'd love it if we could put them on in London. They remind me of The Cannanes and The Cat's Miaow a lot. Beautiful.

They've even got a 'Be My Baby' drum intro!

Heee, and that fourth song is 'Sensitive' slowed down with a different vocal. Listen!

The drum intro on one of the songs reminds me of a Long Blondes song. Is it Lust in the Movies?
