Salute to the Salmon

Post by Yex » Fri May 31, 2013 9:48 am

I know it's a bit lame to plug one's own band, but I'm going to do just that. My project is called Salute to the Salmon, and we just released our first album, entitled Searching for Shells on the Shore, Together. CDs are yet to be ordered, but you can download the album for free at our bandcamp. Our music is on the folkier end of indie pop (I like to classify it as "twee folk"). Lots of love songs, a song about my cat, a song about squid, various ocean-themed lyrics, lots of fun. I play ukulele and sing, and my girlfriend plays meldica on 4 of the tracks. Additionally there's a "twee blues" song with another musician playing slide resonator guitar, and another song with another musician who plays saw and Hawaiian tremaloa. Anyway, give it a listen and let me know what you think!

There are also t-shirts if anyone's interested, available here: http://salutetothesalmon.bandcamp.com/m ... on-t-shirt

Hope you enjoy!

Hey everyone, just thought I'd let you know I'm doing a project for the month of July, inspired by Rose Melberg's "September" album/project, where I record a cover song a day for the 31 days of the month. I'm posting them to my bandcamp as I go, so you can listen to the first 7 right now, if you want (I haven't recorded to-day's yet).

Any suggestions as to songs to cover would be welcome (though I can't promise you I'll actually cover them)

Salute to the Salmon has a split EP with Anthony Damiao out on Fallen Love Records!

Featuring some very beautiful cover art by Jessica Bartram.

Here's an anthology of the songs I sporadically recorded over the course of 2016 and 2017.
