Neil Halstead has a couple of gigs in London on 23-24 October.

Some people might be interested, I guess.

Then announced as him with special guest, Rachel Goswell..

And POW! All tickets gone in less than a day.

And all without the 'assistance' of that Songkick gig malarky..

I'd heard about his collaboration with the guy from Seefeel - but have only just had a listen to the song that you mentioned.

It is a goodie, isn't it! Nice fuzzy sound within seconds.

Funny that the label calls itself Sonic Cathedral - nice bit of self-parody - especially describing itself the Label that Celebrates itself.

On my second listen of the song now - definitely interested in picking up a copy of their album.

Been listening to this song by Wildhoney (not to be mistaken for Wild Honey, the group, or the DiY Beach Boys RnB album) a lot on Skatterbrain. Shoegazing with tunes - it might just catch on. It's madness, however, for them to put this on the B-side of the single, especially when the top side is only so-so.

Not that I ever buy these multi-CD retrospectives, but this new one looks bloody good actually.

I know what you mean. Rather 'creative' description of shoegaze and some horrible also-ran shite on there (did it really need to be dragged out to three discs?) but it's very much my formative era, which gives it a full-blown nostalgic 'welling-up' factor. Read a good review of this the other day:

Were Smashing Orange inspired by the 'smashing orangey bit' in Jaffa Cakes? Maybe I'll finally find out...

I'm working my way through it at the moment - so far, so so good!
