Come on Feel is my favourite album, The Outdoor Type is my favourite song. I'm not sure about the videos and I've never owned a Lemonheads shirt! Although I think there was one with the Car Button Cloth artwork that was rather nice!

That covers album was pretty dreadful. I wonder if they (they?) will ever do anything good again... Evan's voice is still great.

They did do good covers though. Wasn't The outdoor type a cover as well? I also liked their Brass butons.

Yeah, The Outdoor Type is a Smudge song.

and they did a cover of suzanne vega's 'luka' on 'lick', that was the album I came in on...

'mallo cup', that's one of my favourite original lemonhead songs

I'd rather not mention the cover of 'mrs robinson'... I always thought 'it's a shame about ray' was damn near close to perfect until they re-released it with 'the hit' added on

'frank mills' is a cover too, from the musical 'hair'

Come On Feel is my favorite album. It's A Shame About Ray is a close second.

The New Lemonheads are alright. I liked the self-titled, didn't care too much for Varshons.

I miss Juliana in the group.

That's possibly my second favourite! Lovely song. I also really love 'Favourite T', it's a fun song to play on an acoustic guitar because it has some weird, pretty chords in it.

My favourite album's probably Come On Feel but there's great moments on all of them (though admittedly i've not heard the covers record).

As for favourite song... gosh! Down About It, Stove, The Outdoor Type, Hospital, Sunday, Frank Mills, Rudderless, I'll Do It Anyway... so many...

Since Tom started the extra category as well, my favourite song to play on an acoustic guitar is Rudderless, possibly due to how smug i felt when i worked out the chords. Oh, and the fact that it's ace.

Did anyone go to see Ben Deily's band when they were over a few weeks ago? Someone asked me to put them on, but i'm not really in a position to take the financial risk at the moment. Gutted.

Yes! Lemonheads thread!

My favourite album is probably Come on Feel. Favourite songs...well, it's difficult, but I reckon Half the Time, Kitchen and Paid to Smile. Incidentally, I'm currently sleeping in a Come on Feel tour T-Shirt.

I collected together a load of the covers that they did a while ago. I reckon it that CD needs digging out. My personal favourite is their cover of Keep on Loving You by REO Speedwagon. Excellent.

Was that on the It's All True single? I had that at the time but gave it away to a grunge girl that i massively (and ultimately pointlessly) fancied in school, gah.

I remember that EP also had Oasis and Metallica covers, of varying quality (although i was maybe 14-15 the last time i heard it).

Incidentally, my favourite cover of that REO Speedwagon song is by The Donnas, but that's a bit off topic.

Potentially. I half sourced stuff from what used to be an amazing supply of Lemonheads and Evan Dando rarities on the internet, but I have that single so I'll have a look when I'm home.

I now want to hear the Donna's version of that song. I mostly just like the original. I think it's a ridiculously good song...That probably says a lot for my taste in music though.

I've got a big load of Lemonheads / Evan solo mp3s that I got from that (probably-now-defunct?) fansite, some of which are really brilliant. I'm not sure where most of them are from (probably some are b-sides I guess).

Shaky Ground is my favourite of those tracks, anyway. It's lovely.

The Donnas' version is on the Drive Me Crazy soundtrack - they appeared in that movie as 'The Electro-Cutes' (which was also their previous incarnation on their baffling-but-brill first album many many moons ago).

You're right though, it's a great song. One of my pubjukex essentials. See also Take The Skinheads Bowling by Camper Van Beethoven and Runaway Train by Soul Asylum. What?

To get back on topic, does Evan Dando still write with/frequently cover Tom Morgan?

Another cover! I like that version though, with Evan singing the "Jemima" part.

Smudge used to play that REO Speedwagon song sometimes.

Back to the Lemonheads, anyone got that Favourite Spanish Dishes record where they do Different Drum, and the Misfits' Skulls? That was the first I heard of them and I was hooked. Favourite of their own songs? Maybe Hospital off Car Button Cloth. Or Half the Time off Lovey.

Some of Lovey's a bit Big Hair Metal isn't it? The song about wacky tobaccy, or the one with the Iron Maiden guitar riff stuff.
There ain't no-one gonna turn me round
