That's a Brit thing! (dunno how JR picked it up, tho!)
Hate to burst your bubble but (butt!) we (growing up anyway) never used the word "butt"--always "bum" so maybe it's one of those things that came over with the Mayflower and stayed here (me and JR are Massholes) in Greater Boston. He still lives here and plays in my neighborhood so often (Cambridge/Somerville) that I almost feel guilty about it. I'm so proud of him for staying here, though, cuz it's so goddamned boring and he could have buggered off to NYC and been cool like all the, erm, cool people.

I haven't listened to his solo stuff for years, really, and the tastyknibbles wedding CD (which I have been listening to obsessively for the last two weeks!) has revived my interest and now I must dig my CDs out of storage and see what I've got.

i totally love Abdul & Cleopatra. First time i heard it was at my first rehearsal with a band. I mistakenly thought it was them & thought they were the coolest band ever.
i joined them anyway but we never got close to this number.

Eee! I'm definitely going to the Bush Hall show, but I'm tempted to go to the Borderline show too, since it's on my birthday... Decisions decisions!

Me too!

Bush Hall now only seem to be on sale at http://www.gigsandtours.com

Looks like the others are still available at ticketweb.
Cheers!

It does look like it at the moment. Maybe more dates'll be announced later on. Mind you, it's far enough away yet that there are plenty of cheap train tickets available.

If you can make it in any way you definitely should - Jonathan is sooo fab live! From the very second he steps on stage I can't help but have the biggest grin on my face - he just exudes loveliness. I missed him last time he was over so I'd do want to go and see him so much. I really hope he plays somewhere closer.

I saw him at Union Chapel a while ago. He was pretttty good. Any underwhelmings in the music were made up for by his personality and speaking voice.
Toot toot.

Are these venues quite small?
Compared to the last venue he played at I mean.
I couldn't see over people's heads and spent the whole night on my tip toes on a step.
I think we're going for the one on Saturday at Bush Hall.
I have no idea where this is.

To be honest, Bush Hall is probably the biggest of the venues he's playing in. But it is a nice venue, and it's a Saturday, which is why I'm going for that one. It's in Shepherd's Bush Bush Bush Bush.

I chose the Saturday gig 'cos it's the only one to be named after pubic hair.
Cheers!

Pre-gig pints sounds good to me! I'm going to be in London from the mid-afternoon...not that I'm suggesting we go to the pub that early - I want to remember the gig!

One of my friends on lastfm has got a spare ticket for the Bush Hall gig. Anyone interested?

Also, 'Now is Better Than Before', the last song on Rockin and Romance, is about the most perfect thing I've ever heard.
