Have you seen him live before, Andy? He quite often does that one!

Ooh good, as it's one of my favourites by him. I love the whole 'I, Jonathan' album actually. I haven't seen him live before, no.

I'm going to London to see JoJo on the 30th of March! I've never seen him before so I'm really excited! I remember going for a loooong holiday around the Greek islands with just a C90 tape with "It's time for..." and "Rocking and Romance" on each side.

Here's the funniest interview ever (When Harpo Played His Harp?)

So how about that gig last night eh? It was wonderful, I thought. Fun, touching, funny, moving and consistently great all the way through. And the closing 'When My Mother Lay Lying' was almost breathtakingly good.

LisaandSam - he played 'My Baby Love Love Loves Me'! It made me do a massive grin.

hi! at some point in the near future i'm going to be putting on a jonathan richman themed clubnight and am wondering what other bands people would recommend playing as part of the influences/d part.

can i get away with playing pretty much any indiepop and early rock n roll i like - so long as i play at least one VU song

It was a great gig.

Sorry I never materialised in the pub afterwards (and Andy I think I saw you during the gig over the other side but I couldn't see you afterwards?) - the people I was with were being indecisive and we ended up going somewhere else. Which smelt of wee.

I was listening to That Summer Feeling just now (ironic, given it's such a grey pissy day) - what a song. Those lyrics are so good. In fact, the more I listen to him, the more I think he's my favourite lyricist...ever!

He's playing Manchester soon, apparently. I should see this.

Any idea when? I might come up if I can combine it with some band stuff.

Sunday 11th October. I'm not sure if there are tickets left, I'm not getting much joy out of the Deaf Institute website!

Had a chance to finally see Jonathan last night, but as it was such a shitty cold night and I have a sick missus I decided not to in the end. Anyone else seen/seeing him on this tour?
