Yes, I was watching the Come to daddy video. I like any Aphex Twin though, the scary stuff and the lovely stuff.

Thanks Tompony for the Plone download, I'm enjoying it very much!

I've just had a rootle through the cassette tapes I'd mentioned earlier. As I can't play them I may have to have an ambient/electronicafest on my last.fm this week.

It really is sad that it never got released, I think it's a lot better than the first album. And I really like the first album!
Best post ever! Thank you Tom!
And by me, I mean, Flexo.

Can someone tell me is there a track 2 and a track 10 on the Plone download? They seem to be missing off mine. Ta.

There should be a full complement of tracks, although I didn't check that download (other than making sure it worked). Is one of the tracks listed as track number zero? I think when I originally downloaded it there was something slightly odd like that.

I'll post the missing tracks later on if needed!

There is no track 0 but they all start with '00 - plone -'.
'00 - plone - 02' - and '00 - plone - 10 -' seem to be missing from mine.
If you have them and could pm them later that would be great, thanks!

Gold Panda is awesome, and a nice bloke to boot. I saw him live the other day and it was well good. I'd report on what his records like but oxo_foxo stole my purchases*.

He also told me what it was like to play in front 3000 bemused Simian Mobile Disco fans. I was like, "we've all been there Gold Panda..."

* kindly took my purchases home as I was too drunk to remember to take them myself

turns out I had track 2 but not 10! I had never noticed. I've managed to track it down now though, and they're both here:

I used to love skanfrom! I can't believe that they're still making music. Well I never! I used to go loopysome for all that ADSL and Frederik Schikowski stuff...

The rather good Armchair Dancefloor column on DiS is giving away a rather spiffing dubstepy/housey type mix here. It is well worth a listen...

Been listening to more electronic based music this year than the usual indiepop diet hence the lack of time on here! Discovered Pleasurekraft who remind me old Hardfloor. Love their remix of Green Velvet's La La Land.

This is their current single.

Also been impressed with the two dubby singles put out by Shackleton. This is my fave track of the year so far.

Being kind of obsessively listening to the new Daft Punk album for the last couple of days. Loving the mix of massive disco pop songs and weirder, almost more symphonic stuff. Also enjoying how amazingly well produced it sounds (it genuinely does sound like they spent a shit load of money on it).

I'm off to listen to it again.

last year i bought the andy stott album "luxury problems", which gave me the hint to have a look on the "modern love" label from manchester. that stuff seems to give me all i ever wanted from "techno", it's dark, doom, experimental and scary, you just can't dance to it *g* musik from the inside of a sunken oil-tanker, all dark, all cheerless. the opposite of indiepop to be honest, but sometimes i'm the opposite of the person i was yesterday... so who cares. is anyone else into andy stott, demdike stare, miles or rainer veil?

Andy Stott and Demdike Stare for sure. I kind of closely associate Colin Stetson and Julia Holter with Andy Stott, mainly 'cause they've all had compilmentary sounding records out that made for a good triangle of listening.
