I've played the Martha album to death now (it's grreat!) and want to listen to something similar. Where do anorakkers turn for further plaintive, punk-pop thrills?

there's SO MUCH good power-poppy punk rock out there these days.

you could always look at The Marked Men, one of Martha's favourite bands:



or their singer Jeff's new band Radioactivity:

i guess they're all a bit rougher-edged than Martha and don't really cross over with indiepop as obviously… but the melodies and smart songwriting are all there. i could listen to this kinda thing all day

So was I the only one who cried tears of massive joy on hearing the new album in full? Its everything you wanted from them and more. I haven't fallen for a band like this since B&S in 97 and I didn't think that would happen again. Added bonus - they play in Brighton on my birthday!
