Tired and a little disappointed, but essentially the same doomed and stubborn idealist I always was, really. And I still feel bad for taking you to a lardy chip shop in Cleethorpes. Do say hello next time - it'd be lovely to catch up!wrapyrtroubles wrote:Hello Pete! I did spy you at Indietracks but was a bit shy of running up and saying hello to people, as I say, wasn't sure anyone would remember as it's been such a long time. It's been a rather dramatic 7 years..! But I'm ok. How are you?!humblebee wrote: Amy? Bloody hell. How are you?

Ha! I had totally forgotten about that. I actually stopped being vegetarian when I went to live in France though as I didn't fancy camembert for tea every day. Sorry to hear you're feeling tired and disappointed, if it's any consolation your hair was looking fucking great at Indietracks! xxxhumblebee wrote: I still feel bad for taking you to a lardy chip shop in Cleethorpes.
PS Shall I take this opportunity to say NEW BAD THINGS again although I know only unique mentions count... :D

Oooh. Ooooooooh! Have New Bad Things not come up before? I'll try!
Amy, it was wonderful to see you. At the risk of going all Brief Encounter on you, thank you for coming back to us. :)

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist
Just a few suggestions from me this year...
Returning acts
MJ Hibbett and the Validators of course
The Just Joans - can we have them on the main stage this time please? That'd be awesome.
Misty's Big Adventure - last played in 2009 so well due a return, and hopefully will be plugging a new album
Headliners-or-close-to-it
Art Brut - also not seen since 2009, also due for a new record (I think)
Mark Morriss - Britpop-associated acts seem almost taboo! But I think he'd turn in a set with a lot of charm.
New acts
Kathryn Calder - Canadian, so may or may not be feasible, but she's just fantastic. Has been in the UK with the New Pornographers and her old band Immaculate Machine, but has only ever done one set of her brilliant solo material as far as I know.
Piney Gir - seriouly, she'd be great!
Flipron - enormous fun, don' be put off by the 'psychedelic' tag, which is overstating things a bit
GUMS! - post-Plimptons band, they've gotta play Indietracks some time surely?
The Cornshed Sisters - sound nowt like Kenickie, but they'd be brilliant in the church.

Brilliant! I now have everything I need to pretend I've loved them earnestly since 1996/97.a fog of ideas wrote:

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist
Oh good grief, so I asked them to marry me in 2008. I never heard from them, weird that...
Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist
Oh and if we're making this all about me and bands that have played unexpected reunions recently who could potentially play Indietracks then can I throw Kicking Giant into the mix?
Imagining an Indietracks with, for example, Tae Won Yu, Rachel Carns, Allison Wolfe, Linton, Brontez, Rich Gutierrez, Bean, Rose Melberg, New Bad Things, David Feck and Sir Mark Flunder wandering about the site in their waterproofs with all the other cats and kitties would just about blow my mind... I would literally burst into tiny atomic subparticles and become one with the universe
And you could put that on as one of the workshop events
'Man explodes, becomes one with universe, heaven found right here on earth'
Make a thing of it, might sell a few tickets?

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist
Isn't it the 10th Indietracks next year? Isn't that good enough reason for Pocketbooks to reform and play on all 3 days?

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist
Reading all these suggestions is making me so excited for next year already!
And I know I'm biased, but a Pocketbooks reformation for Indietracks' 10th birthday would be just perfect. Ooh, and we should also try to get Stuart to come and visit too!oldgreentieon wrote:Isn't it the 10th Indietracks next year?
