Colin, you can get cheap flights to Barcelona from some of the budget airlines. Ryanair and Globespan both fly there, and Easyjet do as well, although perhaps not directly from Glasgow. It might be worth looking into that, and then getting a hostel or pension for a couple of nights, it would be a hell of a lot cheaper than £350.Colin wrote:What a load of bollocks. The cheapest I could get for a flight leaving a week on Monday and staying in a hotel that was actually in Barcelona was about £350. Looks like I'm staying at home then.Colin wrote:I've just seen flights and four nights' accommodation in Barcelona advertised for £159. I can't tell you how tempting that sounds right now.
You can search for hostels, guesthouses and budget hotels on this site and you can get some pretty good deals, even if you don't want to stay in a hostel dorm.
I've been to Barcelona alone a couple of times, and it was absolutely fine. This is probably a great time to go because it won't be too hot so you could do a lot of walking around during the day. I'm sure there are some Barcelona residents on here that you could meet up with as well.
