Re: Italy

Re: poems we like

Flowers, Love etc by Rebecca Perry Many times I’ve become lost and snapped out of it next to a rose bush and bins in someone’s front garden or by a four-way crossing and car horns and my mouth is full of boring questions. Many times I’ve become lost and found myself helpless as a snow globe on a man...

ALSO: sometimes you CAN be really angry and un-twee but also like twee stuff like bunnies and cupcakes etc. i think when people use it in a derogatory way they create these one dimensional caricatures of people that could never be real. it's like they think anger/angst and happiness/cuteness/nicenes...

Re: Twee - a discussion...

Yeah, you're right, nowhere is perfect and I was just talking in relative terms - to be honest, I'm surprised that the people on here let anyone get away with that sort of shit, but then people surprise you all the time, not always well. I don't think you should have to put up with it, if that mean...

Re: Twee - a discussion...

hmmm...yeah except when people on anorak replied to a post condemning someone for saying "people of colour should be limited edition" with "it's just a joke! you're too sensitive!" "this isn't worth falling out with each other over!" "it's not racist, it's the same as people calling each other racis...

Re: Twee - a discussion...

Apparently, all identity politics are ignored and the only form of political engagement is Morrissey worship, who's opinions on immigration get a free pass 'cos The Smiths were on an indie label. Probably the most ridiculous accusation is that it denies and avoids dealing with the idea of genuine s...
