Woah, are they? I'd definitely approve of this. I missed them in 2012 (no idea why - I just looked at the schedule and there was no clash, so god knows what I was doing), and it's probably my biggest Indietracks Regret.

Re: Indietracks 2015 Photos and Memories

Gaps – The no overlapping in the evening plan does leave some large gaps if you are not fussed by one of the main bands and means the church is busier, obviously it helped out the organisers on Sunday but one of the joys of Indietracks is that there is always something you like somewhere (and norma...

Re: Your Indietracks 2016 wishlist

I love it when this thread is made, makes that 12 month wait feel a little bit shorter. :D Anyway, my list is kind of the same as last year's but with the bands that made it replaced by ones that played in 2014. Indietracks is basically how is discover most of my favourite new bands now, so nearly a...

Re: Indietracks 2015 Photos and Memories

It seems like everyone who's been a few times or more has the occasional year where they randomly don't get into it as much as normal, and this year was a bit like that for me. But it's Indietracks, and not getting into it quite so much still means having a bloody great time and getting all sad when...

Re: General Stuff People Want to Know

Does anyone know if there will be a timetable of trains to Swanwick in advance, or is it going to be just a case of turning up at Butterley a bit before the start time and hoping for the best? I think I get confused about this every year. I do normally manage to get there though, so maybe it's not w...

Re: Birmingham Popfest 2015

Ooh, nice. I was already looking forward to it before any announcements were made, but the lineup looks great so far and it's at the Hare and Hounds, so I'm now officially excited. ;)

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

Great weekend, loads of good points, Spook School were tops for me. I see loads of people are rating it as the best ever... weather conditions certainly helped that, but I really don't think the headliners were anywhere near as good as last years selection?.. Still can't get my head round Hidden Ca...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

Best things for me: I didn't know what most of the stuff in the 7iete Pulgadas one was, but I really liked it. A playlist would be really nice! Alex posted it on his Facebook profile ... Wonderful, thanks. :) Aw, I left too early, there were quite a few songs I love in the last hour by the looks of...

Re: 2015, then...

Not very original picks for me (most have played before), but I'd be very happy to see a few of the following: - The Aislers Set - Gold-Bears - Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Veronica Falls - The Proctors - Alpaca Sports - Pale Spectres - Doggy - Tigercats - The Garlands - The Blanche Hudson Weekend...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

We put as many big fans in the church as we can and I hope it was better this year despite the glorious weather (on order again for next year). I somehow didn't notice them, but I did notice that it was surprisingly cool in there. Well maybe not cool exactly, but a lot better than I expected, and s...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

Best things for me: - Allo Darlin, Spook School and Wendy Darlings were amazing. Those three bands had me smiling for pretty much the entire sets, it was joyous. - Axolotes Mexicanos and The Thyme Machine made me laugh and forget that it was Sunday. The Tunnocks Teacake thing was certainly a first f...

Re: Pale Spectres

They played live last night in Milan, and it was great. They were good at Indietracks but now they clearly improved. Way to go guys! And they are wonderful people too! I think you're right there. They were one of my surprise highlights on Indietracks, but I saw them again last night at Birmingham P...

Re: Birmingham Popfest 2014

Ah, I see. I suppose a more central location kinda makes sense anyway (although it's not as good for me, I'll have to get taxis instead of walking... oh well.)

Re: Birmingham Popfest 2014

Wait wait wait. Where is this? I thought it was The Cross at Moseley, and it still says Moseley on the Facebook etc, but then just by chance I looked at the 'venue' page on the website and it says "The new venue is The Actress and Bishop" (somewhere towards Jewellery Quarter by the looks of it). Hav...

Re: Birmingham Popfest 2014

Looking at the Facebook now, that post seems to have disappeared and it sounds like they sold enough for it to go ahead?

I hope so, I'm looking forward to it. And if an event like this doesn't sell, there's no hope for this city!

Re: BIRMINGHAM POPFEST 2014

A popfest I can walk home from? There's no way I wouldn't go to this.

The lineup looks good to me so far. Nice to see a few of my favourites from last year's Indietracks again. :)

Re: music to fall asleep to

I always used to listen to pre- Bleed American Jimmy Eat World to get to sleep, especially Goodbye Sky Harbor. These days I get to sleep pretty easily anyway, so don't need any help from music, but I have definitely fallen asleep - unintentionally - listening to new albums by The National, Still Cor...

Re: Premier Inn vs Travelodge

Oh, that should be alright then, I just wanted to wait and see how cheap TL was before I booked anything. It was only £30 per night on average this year, so if it's roughly the same again it'll be £200 cheaper than PI for the weekend. I guess I should just make sure I can go on Friday, since apparen...

£99 per night? Blimey. I'm almost tempted to go Travelodge again, despite the hassle with them this year.

How early does the Premier Inn normally sell out?

Re: Indietracks 2013 Photos and Memories

Definitely! I had a couple of moments like that last year. One was when I first arrived at Butterley station and Band A Part or something like that was playing on the speakers there; I guess it was like the moment when someone first steps through a portal in a sci-fi film or something. The second wa...
