Re: 2017! What a year

Carnival of Food's coffee is crap. The vegan burrito place did good coffee! I miss the proper coffee stall / truck (can't really remember) from a few years ago, though. Bring it back in '18, Indietracks! Anyway, despite the weather (which wasn't actually as bad as I thought it might be) and feeling...

Re: Records Of 2016

I got that Whyte Horses album for my girlfriend for Christmas! Snowfalls is lovely. In roughly descending order: The Radio Dept. - Running Out Of Love Le Matos - Chronicles of the Wasteland (December 2015 release, but that's alright innit?) Frankie Cosmos - Next Thing Yoni & Geti - Testarossa Martha...

I had a bad month so I wrote and recorded an album. It's free.

Re: Real things that should be band names but aren't

The industrial air fresheners at my work - which I seem to spend a lot of time reading when I need a break from the office - have informed me that, in at least two different languages, "air freshener" would make a wonderful band name. Luftfrisker (Danish) strike me as a playful synthpop act, while A...

They'll have to clear the name with The Honeybadgers, who I remember being involved with February Album Writing Month one year!

Re: TV Quick: talk about things on telly succinctly

I like it, but find it a little bit hit-and-miss. That said, the underwater episode from the current series is one of the best episodes of anything I've ever seen on television. In fact, I have yet to watch anything past that episode because it kind of floored me and I haven't really moved on yet.

Re: TV Quick: talk about things on telly succinctly

Anyone been watching any of that slow telly stuff on BBC Four? http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02q34z8. It's the greatest thing that's ever happened. Chris Watson's Dawn Chorus and the glass programme particularly, but yeah, God. Possibly of interest to Anorak folk - a load of Slow TV stuff has ju...

Re: Indietracks 2016 photos and memories

Another fantastic year. I didn't really click with a lot of the music this year for some reason but the weather and general atmosphere was so great that it didn't really matter. It was great to finally see two Birmingham bands I've been meaning to see forever (Falling & Laughing and Sonic The Comic)...

These live maps of CYBER-ATTACKS are really cool in a slightly terrifying, Wargames sort of way:

Re: Something for the weekend: Cryptic POP!

I think I've got just over half of them, but I'm really struggling now. The anagram ones are particularly tricky!

Got: 1, 3, 4, 6 - 11, 13, 16, 18, 19, 21-23, 25, 27, 31, 34, 38, 39, 41-43, 47, 50.

Edit: Just got #2 as well.

Re: Music small talk, music big talk

I got Belle & Sebastian. Hmm, I was hoping to get Neutral Milk Hotel, I knew I shouldn't have picked that strange cartoon character girl playing a guitar, I don't even know what cartoon she springs from. I now expect a storm of disapprobation from anorakers in the know. That's Marceline from Advent...
