I was honestly expecting it to be sold out so was surprised that the venue was only half full. His mosquito rap was da bomb.

Re: jeffrey lewis

The Glasgow show (just finished!) was double thumbs up ace. I don't like leaving the house these days but it was very much worth it. I liked the half-finished Mayflower book and his balding head. Too quiet, though, punters-wise. Wake up, Glasgow!

Re: general reading and book related things

Everyone's right though - ...Wallflower is absolutely fantastic. It doesn't look like Chbosky has any plans to follow it up, but i wish he'd write something else. I was speaking to his editor just the other day about this and there are no plans to follow it up or publish anything else, unfortunatel...

Re: The Fence Collective

I guess folks are chuntering excitedly about Homegame elsewhere, then?

I'm scared my old body won't be able to keep up with the pace. But the sun is going to be shining! Look!

I just wanted to say how much I'm looking forward to this. I fear I might get all swoony around Dan Dan the Withered Hand man, though.

Re: Glasgow

Yeah, I think maybe I was first time unlucky. I was having a fag outside before the gig and there was a group of girls hysterical that they had the 'hottest tickets in town' even though none of them knew the band. Twunts.

I liked the pub, though!

Re: Glasgow

Yup. The audience were bloody awful. That's the first gig I've managed to get along to at the Captain's Rest and if the too cool for skool brigade are at every gig there I might not bother again. Or maybe I'm just a grumpy bastard.

Only go if you can cope with a huge amount of hipster wankery. I think I did very well not to kill on Saturday night.

Heh, that's funny. I was speaking to someone on Saturday night who had just been on the phone to the promoter. He was apparently livid that they'd agreed to do a freebie in-store without his say so. Allegedly.

Yeah, I much prefer their oomphier ones. If they just played The Devil Song 10 times over I'd be chuffed.

I'm pleased to get a chance to see Love.Stop.Repeat and Adrian Crowley. And the Burns Unit were great in January, so it'll be good to see them again. Hopefully.

I've been humming and hawing about that also. I may have to be in London the night before so it'd involve a wee trek north early on the Saturday morning. Hmm.

Where are you lot staying for Homegame? Have you got a berth in Anstruther?
