I am presently listening to certain songs I might prefer to remember 2010 by. Grab them here if you like.

Been on cloud nine for the past couple of days, still can't believe my Giants did it. I've painted Helsinki orange.

Re: Shitty music journalism

Yeah, writing about music is sort of inherently a problem, "like dancing about architecture" as Frank Zappa put it I believe. I think when writing about music, the struggle is to stay simple, to find words that accurately convey the sound, and then to coherently express an opinion on the result. Tha...

Re: Californians, what what

I like Sacramento a lot and have a couple good friends there, but maybe it's not touristically the most interesting place. Still, nice town, with cute houses with porches and incredible farmer's markets. If you're visiting all the way from Sweden, don't just do SF-LA-Vegas, your soul will be crushed...

Re: 2009 summary

I made a 2009 mix that can be downloaded with artwork and such here. Though it doesn't contain anything from my favourite album this year, Es - Kesämaan Lapset--a very friendly, expansive, happily ambient/psyche record that nonetheless doesn't really lend itself to being excerpted and reassimilated ...

Lately I keep coming back to that Arthur Russell tribute EP put together by Jens Lekman. Vera November's 'Our Last Night Together' I can cry and melt into.

Re: Spanish pop/Pop Español

I liked much when in the topic of Swedish pop they raised a summary of Swedish bands. For this occasion I am going to take advantage of this topic them to connect with a summary of Spanish bands that have extracted something for the present year. I wait they like it. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_3QiFA...

Re: C90 Cassette pairings

I had Le Jardin de Heavenly b/w Butterfly Kiss by Lois. The latter was quite short, so I repeated some of it to fill out the side. Perhaps unfairly I thus remember Lois as being kind of a repetitive singer.

New EP 'Ensemble' has been out for a few weeks... just listening to it now, pretty nice. It's a digital-only release, which leads me to think that their incredible label Active Suspension is unfortunately still more suspended than active these days.
