Re: The Mare

Indeed, I shall tell you about this band. The Mare is a band from Stockholm that's been around for several years. They play quite often here, but the only time they've played in England was that Twee As Fuck gig a couple of years ago. They're a very good live band, and it's rather strange that they ...

Yeh, who is that pretty girl?

Heh. I'm considering using this video when trying to find a new boyfriend. I think it shows off my girlfriend skills very well. If you go out with me you will experience a lot of fun. And synchronized dancing!

Re: Indietracks 2009 memories and photos

I think the bestest things were Cats on Fire (their cover of Your Woman was amazing), Smittens playing Gumdrops, Pete Green Corporate Juggernaut (especially Best British Band Supported By Shockwaves), dancing in the marquee at the HDIF disco, and seeing AMELIA AND EITHNE PLAY TALULAH GOSH SONGS in t...

Re: Best route for IndieTracks from London?

Emelie, what time are you getting the train from St. Pancras on Friday? I'm getting the train at 12:15pm to Alfreton. Martin's leaving later on the 4:15pm train so if you don't have a specific train time booked, one of us could accompany you. We're also staying at the Alfreton Travelodge. EDIT: Oop...

I'm staying at the Alfreton Travelodge. I'm too old for camping, I'll leave that for the yoofs!

Re: Best route for IndieTracks from London?

I'm massively disorganised this year and I'm still not sure how I'm getting to Indietracks. I do have a train ticket from St Pancras to Derby, but it seems a bit of a hassle to get from Derby to where I actually need to go. Buses and all that. Last year I was lucky to go by car and I guess that's wh...

That sounds good enough! What day is that on?

Re: London is great

I'm going to be in that London between Thursday 7th May and Monday 11th May, and I have more or less no plans. I was meant to go with my mum, but she has had to cancel, so now I'm going on my own. Is there anything good on? Any indiepop kind of events? Or anything at all really.

Ah, finally something in my neck of the woods (well, just around the corner actually)! I will definitely come to at least some of the nights at Landet!

Re: Winter coats and jackets

Navy http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fox_in_snow/07H02TNAV_large.jpg I want this! I have already got another duffle coat, but it's mustard yellow and that's a bit extreme, sort of. But one that's navy would be perfect, for everything almost! But I really haven't got £75 to spend on a coat ri...

Oh no! Is the pretentious-specs-mass-psychosis-pandemic infecting cats now as well? I thought it was restricted to film critics and people in the media business. Haha.

Re: hair

Wavy hair is lovely. But mine just doesn't stay wavy if I curl it no matter what I do. It's always super straight. Anyway, I was going to ask if anyone knows of a really good bleach. I want my hair blonde for a while and I've now bleached it three times but it's still sort of red (except at the root...

"storytelling johnny" by fosca has been my best song ever for the past few days. i get really listen-to-it-on-repeat obsessive about this song ever so often. i love it! That's funny. It's been my best song ever today too. And yesterday. And last week. But I always love Fosca. Otherwise it would hav...

Re: Sweden / Sverige

I got so angry with the traffic and drivers when living in the UK. No one ever stopped to let you cross the road (I mean at pedestrian crossings!), not even if they were even turning around the corner and could just as well stop. In Sweden the law says that the driver has to stop for pedestrians at ...

The Adelphi! Is one of the worst places I've ever visited. I saw a band there, singing about shitting in someone's gob. I was, naturally, horrified.

Re: The Best Line In Indiepop

Maybe not the best line in indiepop, but indeed a good one. And I always find myself singing it to myself. It's this clever one from Fosca's Storytelling Johnny:

I was getting so afraid
I nearly had a t-shirt made
saying 'Lose friends in days
- ask me how'

Men då MÅSTE man dricka julmust!
