Re: Felt/Denim/Go Kart Mozart

Will this ever see the day on DVD for us unlucky people on the other side of the channel who can't just hop over to go and see it ? I'm still waiting for the Dolly Mixture DVD too (although I luckily got to see it thanks to the lovely London popfest people). We're in luck - https://heavenlyfilms.gr...

It's Katherine Howard from The Tudors.

Re: Double top for a win

Anyone know the music for Wayne Mardle's "Wayne's World" segment (comedy signs/dance moves/fancy dress)? http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/darts/9617700/waynes-worlds-top-3-dance-moves#ooid=oxaGpmcjqzvHcg8CYXUsP5CtDyaXvpLI http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/darts/9618703/waynes-...

Re: Belle and Sebastian

Nobody's Empire is proper classic old school B&S! Really love it! Surprised you lot aren't talking about it yet! I like it. It’s anthemic in places… or is it nursery rhyme-ish… or is it Neil Diamond singing a nursery rhyme… I’m not sure which. But I like it. "And he told me to leave that vision of ...

Re: Belle and Sebastian

I saw God Help the Girl at the Auckland Film Festival the other day. I was a bit worried about what it was going to be like. It was really really good. I was surprised at how much I liked it. I used to groan every time GoT flicked to a Gilly and Samwell Tarly scene. Not any more. In fact I liked it...

Re: Belle and Sebastian

I Didn’t See It Coming *is* great. I wish more songs on the album were like that. I reckon this is the direction they should take on future releases. More Sarah Martin I say. On an earlier northern soul note… I Want The World To Stop reminds me of Frankie Valli’s The Night . I saw God Help the Girl ...

Re: '80s mod revival

I'm no expert but have On Target - 20 Direct Hits From The Mod Revival with, amongst others, Secret Affair, Merton Parkas, The Purple Hearts, The Chords, Squire, Long Tall Shorty and (surprisingly) The Nips. It seems to have most of the "hits". The track list for the original Mods Mayday '79 album (...

Re: The Football

Definitely Waddle. A friend saw him play for Hallam FC the other week against Chesterfield U18s, and said he was still trying it. See 38 seconds into this . Thanks. I enjoyed watching that. I’ve watched a variety of Waddle montages over the years but I don’t recall The Primitives soundtrack… which ...

Re: Camera Obscura

John’s performances/contributions in that Spanish television footage make me smile. He had a great voice. It makes me wonder what subsequent Camera Obscura albums would’ve been like had he stuck with the band. What happened to John? Obviously he disappeared after Underachievers... but did he go on t...

Re: The Football

Anyone been to Palace? I went that same season (96-97) and it had a bit of a big club atmosphere (in a good way). I don't know about pubs though as I went on my own and was too scared to go in them. I was there… my brother too. Saturday 8 February 1997. The travelling Bradford supporters were all p...

I think it's criminal that two people should be so talented. Criminal I tell you. Thanks to EardrumsPop for making some of their songs available. Swollen Hearts was also available somewhere at some time. I think islandhopper has already shared this Indietracks video - I can't believe that just two p...
