Thank you thank you for posting these, Jen. Wow, the acoustics did seem perfect, even on video the sound is perfect. They tweeted that some videos were posted on youtube--there are about 6 from that evening.

Ha, hopefully at least you got to shake your hips from your seat!

Re: Bands/songs with ukuleles?

No one's mentioned Dent May? An American from the South (MS) His lyrics are hillarious. His music makes me think of a modern day F. Scott Fitzgerald storyteller. This tracklisting alone should be enough to pique anyone's interest. He has a marvelous deep voice that doesn't match his school-boy looks...

Re: My heart beats far too fast - a Butcher Boy thread

I just got my copy by post yesterday. I, too, am loving it! Fairly good reviews out there as well. I love B & S, but enough with the references. They can stand on their own two feet :)

Re: shit that totally makes you shiver

I could put this on a loop. It builds and builds and then, bah, finishes as quietly as it started.
It will be hard to replace this song as my current favorite, of this epic scope, anyway.

New Geoffrey O'Connor song and a new album. Hurry up September 27th! http://pitchfork.com/forkcast/16105-whatever-leads-me-to-you/ Yes, hurry up! September seems a long way off… The album teaser Chapter Music put out recently was too much to handle, so I came across this great sounding live perform...

Re: Indietracks 2011 - an indiepop compilation

What a great comp. Finally, for me, a Butcher Boy taster! And I really love A Fine Day For Sailing's 'Orange Crate Imagination! Instead of the standard 3 minute pop song, I love how the slight build-up at the end that just repeats. And the harmonies! And Sloppy Joe, I may have to track some more son...

Noticed it through indietracks plugging this mix: http://8tracks.com/milquetoaster/ten-reasons-to-go-to-indietracks?mix_set_id=1269789 (I'm here: http://8tracks.com/johnkell - only a couple of things up so far) I made that one! I wasn't plugging the festival as such, just trying to make people I kn...

Re: 8tracks

I think it's a great site, unfortunately the biggest drawback is not being able to keep the tracklisting order, which is sometimes key in a mix! It can get tedious putting a mix together although the 'uploader' featrure does make uploading a breeze. Some hints I've found: Keep the tracks to a minimu...

Re: My heart beats far too fast - a Butcher Boy thread

Been in a Butcher Boy fit lately, and combing the net I found this, an interview:

Album release in July! (Fingers crossed!)
This is the first thing I've read with any great detail on their upcoming album release. I am SO excited.

Re: But you can't hear the words! The instrumentals thread

Superchunk side project Portastic's soundtrack to 'Who Loves The Sun" is fantastic.

The Smiths' 'Rank' version of the Draize Train is one of the best rocking instrumentals, much better imo than the studio version.

stuart looks like cliff richard. Colburn bears an eerie resemblance to Cantona circa “Looking for Eric”. In fact, for a minute there I thought it was Cantona. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4148/4992742462_4c9c1944d9.jpg Stuart looks like Noodle. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4124/4992742548_faa32...

really like their songs. annoyed at a label that puts out a debut 7" by a heavily-blogged band & allows it to sell out at the pre-order stage (plenty of time to increase the size of the order at the pressing plant) but i daresay it'll be widely available from distros & with luck they'll re-press im...

Re: The Loves

I can't remember how I came across the Loves, I remember it was quite by accident looking for music on emu. I absolutely love 'Love Song #7', and I almost always fall for a song that has that 4/4 drum beat thing. I'll have to go back and thoroughly read this thread.

Is this ep new? I know the songs aren't that new, but I think the ep is, right? http://crayonfieldsforever.bandcamp.com/ Yeah, this ep was orginally titled 'USA October Tour EP', I think to coincide with their upcoming tour here in the States. I love the new name though! And I finally have 'How Lov...

Stolenwine, I love how you've owned this thread. Kinda like having your own personal blog. (I'd be likely to do the same for Crayon Fields, if there were enough news on them. And they could certainly use more exposure.)
Though I'm not a Cribs fan, it is keeping me caught up with all things Johnny!

Re: Things I am listening to now then

Best Coast seem to be getting a lot of attention recently in blogs. emusic has a mini interview and is 'showcasing' their release (Make You Mine). I love what I've heard, retro 60's girl-group sound, more melancholy compared to groups such as Vivian Girls, Lichtenstein, Crystal Stilts and the like, ...
