Re: Jigsaw Records

They have a sale on at the moment,

https://jigsaw-records.com/collections/sale

It's pretty extensive, you might find something you can't get from the labels anymore.

Re: what book are you reading?

My memory of "Hackney, That Rose-Red Empire" is that it was like an investigation, tracking people down, connecting things up, and uncovering stories. One person that particularly stuck in my mind from that book was Hackney writer Roland Camberton. Camberton wrote two novels, the second called "Rain...

Lovely single off the new album. Filmed by Paul Kelly, who made the Saint Etienne films "Finisterre" and "Mervyn Day".

The Choo Choo Trains in London in November 2015. (Recorded by Andrew Parkinson)

That's my favourite thing to watch at the moment.

Recordings of the other bands at the show are there as well, but I haven't had a chance to look at those yet.

"Treason" - The Bats, in Tufnell Park on the 17th of June. Recorded by edwardlaws.

I can see they also played "Miss These Things" and "Block Of Wood" and "Tragedy", all great older songs.

"Passing Through" - The Foxgloves

The person who put that on youtube has quite a lot of pop! video/audio there, including from the Orchids/Chesterfields/Suncharms show and from the Glasgow Weekender,

Re: Things I am listening to now then

I was listening to some of the bands that people had put on their Indietracks wishlists, ones I hadn't heard before, and I really liked Ivory Past. Initforthemoney mentioned them, https://milesapartrecords.bandcamp.com/album/searching-for-your-love And I noticed that "Ivory Past" is the title of a F...

Listening to Whatevers made me think about Auckland band The Coolies. They haven't really been mentioned around here. I'm not sure what happened to them but they have a few things on youtube, including this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6adygsU1xBc It says that was recorded on 9 November 2002 at t...

Re: Things I am listening to now then

Hey Saloon fans, this looks good,

http://salooncouk.blogspot.co.nz/

The posts for 2014 have something about the proposed third album, including some recordings.

And 2012 has demo versions of the songs on the first album and a recording of their first show.
