Re: Indietracks 2017 album recommendations

What you're *really* saying is "Could the following selection of bands please spend the next week or so selecting [arguing with each other about] songs for a Best Of Spotify Playlist" aren't you?

If so: ON IT!

Re: Unlikely background music on TV

I think Sweet Baboo was used on Cold Feet this week.

I mean, that's what I hear. I was watching BBC4, obviously.

GRACE PETRIE!

a) she's amazing
b) she's local
c) she'd take the roof off (even if outside)
d) she's very much up for doing it

I saw her get a standing ovation from 500 people last night - see point a)!

Re: Indietracks 2016 photos and memories

As for next year, who's going to be the first to play a Drake cover? An indie cover of a hip hop song? At Indietracks? I can't imagine that ever working. I had a lovely time, especially getting FACEACHE from GRINNING so much at Po, seeing PALS, sacrificing my knees for Frankie, and finally seeing t...

Re: Real ale request thread

FUN FACT: Oakham Ales are brewed in my old dole office in Peterborough. Well, they used to be, I think that's just the pub now, but still.

I had a DELICIOUS pint of JHB in my local last night, it is the very pinnacle of Drinking Beer. If they get some, can they get LOADS please?

Re: The forlorn & long-dead notion of making a living from m

From all the Young People that I meet (i.e. basically friends' kids) I'm pretty sure that they ARE still rabid about music, it's just that it's a) available instantly rather than after a trek round the shops b) free rather than costing a week's pocket money c) in individual song format rather than a...

Re: The forlorn & long-dead notion of making a living from m

I don't think I really agree with that - yes, the music press could get behind a band, but it was generally to do with how much advertising record companies were giving the paper, or if the band were mates with the journalists (the dog days of the Melody Maker were particularly bad for this). There ...

Any chance of a running total update? We've not had one for ages and... um... no reason. What? I'm not even interested. What running total?
