Re: Mr Horatio Knibbles

Cannot really have the sound on at work but the look and feel of it is that of a horror film.

It looks bloody terrifying

Re: Leicester

I was not aware of this. I'm sure it will be massively popular - in fact, probably too popular to make it somewhere I'd want to go. It's always been a source of mystery to me why no-one copies the Orange Tree in Leicester, because their three places are always rammed and there isn't really anywhere ...

I want to do something fun with Nottinghamers but I'll be in the Hague. The Hague!

Re: General Chat About Films And That

I saw Biutiful last night.

It's pretty much unceasingly bleak, but really good. Very sad overall and almost unbearably so in parts although doesn't mess with you head in the way that Black Swan, for example, does

Re: True Blood

I think it's brilliant, although season 2 tailed off a bit towards the end and wasn't nearly as sharply written. I agree that Season 3 has been great so far. I think the particular mix of horror, drama and comedy is actually quite unusual. When it wants to be funny it really is, but it can be pretty...

He's got bags of pace and he can finish as well as anyone, so why more managers haven't built a team around him I've no idea

Re: The Football

personally i don't think Yakubu's actually 'fat', per se, i think that's just his natural frame i'm sad to see him go meself. best striker we've had at the club in a very, very long time My Everton supporting electrician claims you're (Everton, not you personally) doing it to fund a move for Robbie...

Re: The Football

Feed the Yak and he will score, goes the saying, but as a thousand football forum website wags have already pointed out, if you feed the Yak he will probably get even bigger.

I cannot get used to City signing apparently good players again. It feels confusing

Re: Belle and Sebastian

I blooming love the album now, all the way through as well. It's taken A LOT of listening to get to this stage though. I can quite understand how people would be underwhelmed and discard it after a couple of listens, but I'm such a MASSIVE FANBOY that I have faith in them and I know that if I listen...

Re: Nottingham

My suggestion to dress Ted up as Charles I wasn't related to the Robin Hood related shenanigans. That would be a history related faux pas on an unacceptable scale.

You should just dress him up as Charles I and take him down to the Co-op or something, it's good clean weekend fun

Re: Belle and Sebastian

It's starting to grow on me quite a bit now but only after a lot of listening, in contrast to TLP which I adored pretty much straightaway. Even so, I'm not expecting it to be one of my favourites. I do like the Norah Jones one, I must admit. I'm struggling to see though why they used Carey Mulligan,...

Re: Nottingham

That was about as stand up gets, I reckon I'm presuming there's some words missing here... between the 'as' and the 'stand' is it 'good as'? 'upright and vertical as'? 'get up' with the missing words 'stand up for your rights, you bunch of bleeding' following the word up? what is it, pablo? tell us...

actually, after listening to the clips on itunes, "Oh Phoney" sounds different from what i have. so I guess i haven't heard it. i have "Happy Lovers United", "Honey You Know Where to Find Me", "Lifeguard on Duty", and "Oh Phoney". i think they're actually pretty good. it'd be nice if they were re-r...

Re: The Football

Sven (one of the few managers it seems to be OK to refer to by his first name) appears to be have appointed as manager of Leicester City. I say 'appears', because I'm having trouble taking it in.

It could yet turn out to be some medication-induced dream
