Re: Medical question

That's really bad news. Do you know if they can do anything about it? It's what Jo dad died of. He got it while working at the power station who's cooling towers they recently demolished at Tinsley, though it was years later before it showed. I don't know much about it but I do know that smoking do...

Re: Medical question

Were you not issued with the white masks to handle the lagging? I asked my dad about the circumstances he came into contact with it. He started out as a pipe fitter and then became a gaffer for a number of years, and it sounds like when they passed the pipe insulation there was no strict guidelines ...

Re: Medical question

Has anyone had any relatives suffer from asbestosis? I've only been able to find out that the effects of it hit in the human body years after exposure, and that if the sufferer smokes then this exacerbates it. I want to know how certain the dangers of it are. My dad was told by the hospital yesterda...

Re: Printers/Scanners/Copiers

It was bit of a rum bum-rush making either head nor tail or that, but I think I get the gist.

Re: Printers/Scanners/Copiers

How does that work, Pete, considering that I'm a computer Luddite so you might have to speak slowly and not laugh. Is there some type of printer fluid well somewhere where refills cost tuppence a dime?

Our printer cartridges have thrown the proverbial spanner in my budding t-shirt industry works.

Re: The Football

Old Pip McNulty over at the BBC has hit the kernal with a toffee hammer regarding the situation at St. James Park: They are almost terminally unstable, shifting from manager to manager with monotonous regularity, and shipping players in and out in a ludicrous revolving door policy. As I alluded to y...

Re: The Football

My only thought about Man City today in particular is that ever since they got back into the premier league they've become what Newcastle became in the mid-90s. New managers and chairmans in and out, ground improvements or ground moving, buying players that don't fit into the starting 11. They're a ...

Re: The Football

Even with years of ridicule and tattered dreams behind them they're [fans] are plastered all over the news with arab headgear on. Tossers. That's the most depressing thing I've read all day. It really just ties in with what Humblebee was saying on this thread earlier on today. This is from the BBC:...

Re: The Football

It looks like Hull City are going for Daniel Cousin then, which is a bit of a catch all for me as my North of the border team are Celtic. And he scored in the Old Firm game yesterday, but then got sent off as well. What is a Bhoy to think? If this deal is confirmed in the next half hour then I recko...

Re: The Football

Do you think that Pavlyuchenko is going to be a good investment and alternative to Berbatov at the Hotspurs, Concrete?

You can just picture them turning up at the ground on the wrong day and then been put in the rugby team by accident.

Re: The Football

This is funny: "I have just seen Mark Viduka outside the Hull stadium. I doubt he is in Hull for a holiday." Anonymous via text on 81111 There is no arguing with the second half of your point. Has someone from this thread been freelancing for the Beeb? A Viduka signing is probably a bullshit rumour.

Today is going to be worth it when Berbatov moves to whichever club pays the king's ransom and he starts to do a Shevchenko or a Veron on the field.

Re: The Football

I was driving a bit on the rash side, James B. City had just crumbled like Kendall Mint Cake to Wigan and I was a bit cranky, like. All is fair in football and talking about football on the internet. In other news - Spurs have got Pavlyuchenko then, I see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/te...

Re: The Football

Wasn't the last competitive game against City and Town in the F.A. Cup in 1989. Oh wait, there might have been a testimonial on a wet soggy November night in 2004 for Neil Mann.

Hardly the simmering cauldron of an Old Firm or El Clásico rivalry.

Re: The Football

I don't agree with you both. This is the third game into the new season. City beat Fulham, Fulham beat Arsenal, Arsenal thump Newcastle, Newcastle stifle Manchester United. Blackburn had a shocker of a day too, but who is writing them off? It's a bit of wacky statement to come from a United supporte...
