Chorusgirl/Easter Island Statues/Schande-Oxford 27/07

Hello all! Swiss Concrete is back for its annual outing, with the stellar line up of Chorusgirl/Easter Island Statues/Schande at the Wheatsheaf in Oxford. My daughter has done a lovely poster for this, but I can't work out how to post it on here! You can see the poster on the facebook event anyway.....

Lunchtime For The Wild Youth - new fanzine

Hello all! Just thought I'd let you know about my new fanzine. Lunchtime For The Wild Youth is a fanzine about the music you leave behind with your youth. The fanzine takes a personal look back at albums I haven't played for years and re-assesses them musically, along with personal anecdotes as to w...

Lucerne my religion - Tender Trap in Oxford

As REM bow out, so Swiss Concrete return. Not a particularly fair exchange, but that's life. On Friday 14th October at the Wheatsheaf, we have the first Swiss Concrete gig in over a year. And this is what is happening: Indie legends Tender Trap return to Oxford, with support from London's sumptuous ...

Re: Indietracks 2010 memories and photos

There was a big pile of squashed metal by the steamroller. Maybe that's what happened to all the badges? Either that or a wormhole exists over the site that only attracts badges.

Re: Your IndieTracks 2011 Wishlist

I have a wish that Indietracks 2011 won't turn into a great big '25th anniversary of C86' corpse-shagging fest. I'd go so far as to say, in fact, that no bands who were on C86 should play at next year's Indietracks. Unless The Shop Assistants reform, obviously. or Stump of course...but I hear it's ...

Re: Indietracks 2010 memories and photos

As a couple of people mentioned liking La La Love You does anyone know if they have any records out? The merch stall drew a blank, and their myspace is mainly in spanish, and the website won't load! Can anyone help?

Re: General Stuff People Want to Know

We're going to need to get away around 8pm of an evening to take the little one back to the hotel for bedtime. Are there places at Swanwick where you can be sure you won't get boxed in?

I would park at Butterley, but that means getting the train down there and leaving much earlier.

Re: Ripley Premier Inn

Gah! There are no rooms left here for the weekend! Alfreton Travelodge is full of doom as well. Is Mansfield too far away to be practical do you reckon? I really don't want to camp again... Mansfield Premier Inn is 6 miles away, so better if you have a car or don't mind long walks...although as I'm...

Re: Ripley Premier Inn

How did you get in Pete? it seemed full last night too... and as the travelodge was quoting me £202 for 3 nigh...

Re: General Stuff People Want to Know

Is there parking at the Swanwick end? I vaguely remember from last time I went (2008) that there was possibly a few cars parked up top. Reason I ask is cos my wife and I are hoping to come with our daughter, who'll be almost 1 by then, but I'll need to take them back to the hotel early evening so t...
