Re: The Secret History + Comet Gain + Pale Spectres, London

To conclude! I just wanted to post up the fantastic songs that Cloudberry Roque played before, in between and (for a bit) after the bands. He's just the best indiepop DJ. I always find myself wondering what he's playing and wanting to twirl about to both what I do and do not know. POP! - Tony Head E...

Re: The Secret History + Comet Gain + Pale Spectres, London

How dull life seems after a week of dazzling pop shows and Indietracks. This show kicked it all off for me and I know there were lots of out-of-towners & holidaymakers (all the way from Japan!) that came specially for this show. Thank you to all who came and sweated happily at The Miller! I apprecia...

Re: The Secret History + Comet Gain + Pale Spectres, London

Did My Favorite never make it to the UK? I'll have to ask Michael. They did! But they only played one gig in London in June (I think) 2005 and that was it. And then they split up a few months later. :-( ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: getting the train

Here's the timetable from Butterley to Swanwick. http://www.midlandrailway-butterley.co.uk/home/leaflets/leaflettimetable201314.pdf I'm pretty sure those times look familiar from previous years. If not, the walk is dead nice. Yes, that's the PDF I linked to in my post. If you look at the calendar o...

Re: getting the train

Hi all, Something I struggle with every year is knowing what times the train runs between Butterley Station and Swanwick (the festival site). I inevitably end up missing a band because my taxi arrives to the hotel and then Butterley late and the next train isn't for an hour (you can walk to the site...

Re: The Secret History + Comet Gain + Pale Spectres, London

I cant bloody wait for this. Its probably been nearly 15 years since I got a My Favorite song on a mixtape, and now I get to see MGJR play for reals! This is proper eeeeeeeeeeee territory! Oh, I *love* to hear this! I totally agree. Did My Favorite never make it to the UK? I'll have to ask Michael....

Re: The Secret History + Comet Gain + Pale Spectres, London

Tickets have all gone now folks. Congratulations to The Secret History on selling out their first ever UK show! It's true! The show is totally sold out. It's exciting but I feel a bit sad for those who wanted to come and didn't purchase tickets in advance. If any ticket holders can't come for any r...

Today is the release day for Americans Singing in the Dark ! You can buy it here , here or at our show . 'Sup Magazine (!) debuted the band's new video today for 'Johnny Panic (Forget Everything)' to coincide with the release. They've written a fabulous overview of the characters of the song's narra...

Re: The Secret History + Comet Gain + Pale Spectres, London

Yeah I'll try and make it down. Can't make any promises but The Secret History are fucking incredible. Michael Grace Jr is perhaps the finest lyricist of his generation. I absolutely agree with this. I hope others do too. Tonight I have added some more tickets to We Got Tickets . We've already sold...

So you'll be at our show then? :-) The Secret History have started a Kickstarter. It's horrendously expensive to fly from...

Re: Your Indietracks 2013 wishlist

I love making an indiepop wish list! I was waiting for this thread to appear. My list is a mixture of bands who've recently put out brilliant releases (Burning Hearts, Azure Blue), bands who've never played Indietracks (Julian Henry/The Hit Parade, Days, Los Ginkas), and stark omissions from this ye...

Re: What should our magazine be called?

I'm in the camp that it should *not* be called Slow Grafitti as there were loads of those printed and distributed worldwide. I remember sending some to the Philippines. I know I was heavily involved with it but I agree with others, making a brand new magazine with that title would conjure up images ...

Re: Pic 'n' Mixx mix CD swap - what did you get?

After worrying that I'd make a mix for no one and get none in return, I am the grateful and proud receipient of two ace mixes from Indietracks! The first is from Irene, one of the Madrid Popfest organisers, who heard I wanted someone to exchange with. She just walked up to me and asked to do so! Gre...

Re: Come Again DJs Playlists from Indietracks 2012

These are so great! Thanks for posting, Andy and Murray. I didn't know you'd actually be DJing (I thought there'd be mixes made in advance to play which there were too, I see!) so it was amusing to watch you hop up on the outdoor stage as soon as the band finished! I love poring over DJ song lists a...

Re: Pic 'n' Mixx mix CD swap - what did you get?

I have a really fabulous mix CD of pure POP that wants to go to a new home. Please someone grab me and whisper where I can, hopefully, exchange it. (Just not at noon on one of the days, please. That's too early for me!)
