Re: last.fm

Any info about people you actually know or share musical tastes with have disappeared too.

No neighbours, no 'what your friends are listening to right now', no 'top listeners amongst your friends' on the artist pages. It's all geared up towards global trends, which is obviously bullsh*t.

Re: The Football

I'm planning to go to Burnley because my football team is playing there a pre-season friendly :) They're playing 3 games in England but this is the one that I might go to. Celta Vigo, I assume? I won't be around for that one, and I'd hardly recommend Burnley as somewhere to go as a travel destinati...

Saturday evening I certainly agreed with you (pulled pork burrito), but then Sunday evening (chicken fajita) was da bomb.

Tote bags

You've ALL had tote bags made for various purposes before, right?

Did you order them online? Did it go well? Could you share the website?

Jens Lekman sampled that at somepoint before I knew about the Ennio Morricane song and thought it was a stand alone theme tune. I couldn't get my head around it.

What do people make of made.com? I've just got a footstool from there and it is solid and comfortable and whatever else you can say positive about a footstool without going over the top because it is, after all, a footstool. I can send you an invite and you'll get £15 off too (and selfishly so will...

Re: I want to marry Charlie Brooker

Robert Downey Jr. to take one of the first series episodes to the BIG SCREEN. Jesse Armstrong is on the writing team. Chris Morris isn't. Thought that was the best episode of the first series. Chris Morris isn't on the writing team though. Just mentions that Armstrong's worked with him. Yeah, I kno...

Re: Jens Lekman

The new album is beautiful. I love how breezy it sounds despite the melancholy throughout.

The new album has also pointed me in the belated direction of a b-side on his An Argument with Myself EP, which I think is a bloody superb pop song.

Re: Pointless

A friend dragged me along to an audition last year. We didn't get on because of, or maybe inspite of, him ending up answering the question of "Why would you like to go on the show?" with a description of a new gameshow he was making up on the spot which involved the Russian oliagarchy burning down p...

Re: Fantasy Football League

In the event of last year's not being renewed I've just set up new leagues for this year (one classic, one head-to-head). The codes are below. If last year's does get renewed then I can just delete these.

Classic: 20520-369137
Head to head: 20520-369202

I don't want to lose to Kippers again.

Re: Fantasy Football League

Whoever set up last year's should just be able to renew the league. I lost faith in fantasy football last year after I forced my girlfriend (with approaching a passing interest in football) to make a team so that we could compete with 2 people in the flat next door. She picked players mainly based o...

Do you realise that this, right now, is the longest we've ever had to wait for the next Indietracks? On the upside, Indietracks 2012 hasn't actually finished. I know this because there still hasn't been the announcement that the toilets at the bottom of the site are not working. That's when Indietra...

Re: General Stuff People Want to Know

Unfortunately the campsite are very strict on the discos being only for campers, and they also have a 3 night minimum stay this year so you can't pay for single nights. Sorry Joanny! When I phoned up to book for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) they didn't have a problem with that. Not that that solv...

Well I guess that makes the dash home from work, shovel food into mouth, drive to sheffield, get lost in sheffield squeeze slightly easier.

I am also a PhDer. 1st year. At York. In Linguistics. Forensic Phonetics, to be more precise. Not Geography-related, that's damn sure. I feel like I have no time to actually do constructive work and feel like I'm getting absolutely nowhere, which is my gripe. And I think it's a common gripe, which m...
