Re: What will be any good in 2016?

The Tacocat album Lost Time is great. If you liked the lead tracks issued - I Hate the Weekend and Talk - then you will love the album. They are also possibly my favourite live band to watch as well. The album Nosebleed Weekend by the Coathangers is wonderful too. Rocking surf pop. https://www.youtu...

Re: Indietracks 2016 photos and memories

What a wonderful year, my favourite Indietracks of all I think. It seemed to be the Indietracks when everything clicked - the weather was just right, so many great bands, and it felt like everyone was in the best mood. Maybe it was just the sky - the sky looked amazing, and everyone took their cue ...

Re: Things I am listening to now then

I have been doing a spot of clearing and sorting recently, which included checking out a few old video cassettes of music things recorded from the TV. One of the cassettes had a little feature about a band called 'We Start Fires', who were a punk/pop band from Darlington. They were around in about 2...

They will definitely do tour dates in the USA. The unconfirmed rumour is west coast - but it is just that - a rumour.

A fabulous lineup! I'm sure that whoever you get to replace Ruby Fray will be great too though (e.g. was a shame about Feature pulling out, but very happy to be able to see Chorusgirl again)

Would be amazing if any of the following would play Indietracks next year: Dog Legs Slowcoaches Witching Waves Haiku Salut Trust Fund Two White Cranes Michael Hiscock & Friends (they played a set of Field Mice songs at Limoges Popfest recently) Bearsuit (reunion?) The Wharves September Girls Verity ...

Re: gender equality and indiepop

Not sure the mighty Feature would describe themselves as indiepop, but fuck it. This is all right. http://featuringfeature.tumblr.com/post/122430521522/so-uninspired-observations-from-the-stage I got caught up in this twitter thing - for commenting on one of their tweets. Some of the reactions from...

Re: Sleater-Kinney!

Well Glasgow did pretty much match Manchester! Glasgow had the best set list - and I thought a slightly better sound.. Manchester, the best venue and possibly crowd, I think. Thrilled that they played 'Little Babies' and 'You're No Roll and Roll Fun', which they didn't play in either Manchester or L...

Yip - Glasgow a-go-go!

Also excited about it! I like the ABC1 venue - and am glad there're playing there.

Hope you're settling in well north of the border btw :-)

Re: Sleater-Kinney!

Well the Manchester gig pretty much kicked the London one into touch. Probably my favourite gig of the year so far. Partly the nicer venue (imo), and a much better crowd & atmosphere (again, subjective), which the band seemed to really respond to. Slightly different setlist - they played 2 of my fav...

Re: Sleater-Kinney!

Ah, you were there too? Didn't see you :-( *Spoiler alert They played a long setlist, didn't they! I can't think of many bands that I have seen who have played more songs. Emphasis firmly on latest album - but also The Woods. Reckon they made 60% of Setlist. None off 2 of their albums, only 1 track ...

Re: Sleater-Kinney!

Really looking forward to seeing them play live this week - revisiting this thread has put me even more in the mood for this :-) I have heard really good things about their tour so far. Generally try to avoid reading setlists from their gigs so far - doesn't stop me from still being *really* curious...

Records of 2015

I think I recently saw a tweet from Trev, commenting on just how many good records have come out already this year. I would agree with this! It got me thinking of the ones that I have enjoyed so far this year So far, I am thinking of: No-one's Coming For Us - Trust Fund Slow Changes - Lightning In A...

I think the Glasgow gig is sold out, which caught a few folk out who were looking to see them, but hadn't picked up tickets yet..

Re: Your Indietracks 2015 Wishlist

This is probably a little late in the day, but I'd always liked it when record labels sponsored a stage. Has this happened once - or twice? Maybe Elefant Records were involved in 2009 - was Slumberland in 2012? Thought that this process worked well (whether once or twice), and whether there might be...

A couple of friends basically weren't
Organised enough to pick up tickets for Saturday. If there are any spare tickets going - or any released on the day even - then that would be great.

Otherwise, good that it has sold out! I think quite a few folk are travelling some distance for this too.
