Re: Congleton Going Up The Country Weekend 2015

Have you thought of using something like limitedrun.com for the tickets? Given that the booking fees are tiny on this site it may encourage some us to buy an extra ticket for the tombola.

Re: 2015, then...

So it is ok to slag off other peoples choices now? Just want some clarity before I sharpen my knives. I have no idea as to what happened at Madrid Popfest, either. Trev, I was just making the point that Wake The President had seemingly consumed a few bevvies before going on stage but I thought they...

Re: 2015, then...

Cheers for that, most helpful. If we're gonna start slagging off requests line them up. I'm up for it. Slap. I can perhaps see where Barto is coming from given Wake The President had seemingly taken advantage of the extravagant Madrid Popfest rider. Having said that I thought that the twins resembl...

Re: 2015, then...

Of course some new bands will emerge between now and the next Indietracks but these are some of the bands I'd like to see next year.... Returnees:- The School (perfect Indietracks fayre) Colour Me Wednesday (I'm sure by next year they will be much better known) Dignan Porch (Any band with a Joe Wals...

Re: Indietracks 2014 Photos and Memories

Great fun as usual and, in general, really well organised. I remember more of it than usual through consuming virtually no alcoholic beverages. Best acts for me were:- Sweet Baboo (knew nothing about him beforehand but I loved the quirkiness of his songs) The Yearning (lack of gigging means they lac...

Re: GOING UP THE COUNTRY 2014

What a great day. All the bands were on top form, the weather improved considerably as the day progressed and the Pristine Christine ale lasted all day. I was pleased Kev and Linda were noticeably less stressed by the evening, given the hurdles they had to overcome to ensure everything went smoothly...

Re: Sheffield 26/03 The Tuts/Sonic The Comic/Elopes

Thanks Dan for putting on a great show. It was pleasing to see a decent sized crowd and hopefully those not usually drawn to indiepop gigs will return.

I'd not seen Sonic The Comic or Elopes before and enjoyed both immensely. The Tuts were fantastic, as ever.

That one really isn't possible, though. :-(
The clue is at the start of the thread...

Here's another 'fun' poser... bands/artists you wish either could or could have or can never play Indietracks

Port Vale away. I could probably get there for 6.30pm. I can't see it being moved for TV.

Re: Indietracks 2013 Photos and Memories

I thought the whole festival went really well from the moment on Friday when I found out why the "Carnival Of Food" van had turned 90° from previous years to the indiepop singalong in the sand pit on Sunday. It's easy to stand in the shadows at gigs and not speak to anyone but Indietracks manages to...

Probably the hottest room I've ever been in for a gig. All three bands were fantastic and made it worth the effort.

Re: GOING UP THE COUNTRY 2013 - Congleton Cheshire 1st June

Thanks to Kev,Linda and team for putting on a fine event. I enjoyed it all. Town Bike were particularly good, I am probably biased. Hopefully it will happen again next year and there'll be a few more punters in attendance.

Re: 2/6 - Going Up The Country - Congleton, Cheshire

For Nottingham folk, I have 2 spaces in the car for Saturday. You have to be prepared to put up with two middle aged blokes discussing why 1970/80s football was better than today and complaining that today's indiepop bands don't practise hard enough. We'll also be looking to leave straight after the...

Thanks for the tip off. I can't stand the Smittens, so if they are on first I don't have to leave work early.

Re: Your Indietracks 2012 Wishlist (and actual announcements

I'm flipping chuffed Vacaciones are playing. It must be the best line-up so far. There's sure to be some real fixture clashes and inevitably the <<no hay billetes>> sign will be hanging outside the church.
