Re: Your Indietracks 2019 wishlist

Lush? Possibly not but that's moot given that they've called it another day. Sleeper perhaps moreso? I dunno. I've heard from friends that have attended some of these Britpop alldayers etc that the atmosphere can get a little lairy though and it's definitely the reason that I've never gone to any of...

Re: Your Indietracks 2019 wishlist

Sleeper Mmm. I've been thinking about this for a while now - there are a fair number of Britpop bands who are currently undergoing the revival thing (or who never entirely went away) and I do wonder what folks would think about one of them turning up at Indietracks. Whilst I am a massive Britpop-er...

Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers

I've suggested these lovely folk for Indietracks for a couple of years now but I appreciate that they might not necessarily be name many know. They've been peddling their beguiling tuba-driven nonsense from Leeds for a good number of years now and they're always a total joy to watch. Hopefully this ...

Re: That was the Indietracks 2018 that was

Mmm. That happened, then, didn't it? That was the first Indietracks where I didn't really feel into it. Probably too many reasons to go into particularly on here, but amongst which the weather on Saturday totally kicked the shit out of me and Faith to the point where we almost packed up and went hom...

Re: Your Indietracks 2018 wishlist

Most of last year's list I imagine: Jens Lekman Alvvays The Wendy Darlings (I would like to think that mini-Wendy is old enough now for POP across the channel) T.O.Y.S. Mi Mye The Spook School Even As We Speak (surely a must for the obligatory Sunday mid-afternoon Sarah Records slot?) The Seven Inch...

2017! What a year

God that was good. God I love Indietracks. Highlights this year: The Hearing. Oh my holy Jebus. Possibly the best set I've ever seen at Indietracks. Just phenomenal. Wow wow wow. Mammoth Penguins and Friends. Outstanding, emotionally devastating yet with some excellent dancey pop. Emma's best work y...

Re: Unlikely background music on TV

Our drummer Katie's partner noticed Finnmark playing in the background on Strip Date last week. Whilst it's inevitable we'd sell out eventually I really wasn't expecting THAT...

Spot on Frankie. Your set was wonderful, by the way - from someone who was stood in the gap between the two coaches at the back and could only really hear you when the train had stopped, it was still ace.

Re: Indietracks 2016 photos and memories

Get the only gripe out the way first. As Pete Green wrote, "no danger of hearing Catfish....." but there is a danger of hearing Drake. Why a DJ at Indietracks, if he's read the programme notes, should play Drake at one of the discos in the shed puzzles me. I hear that "popular" music in every shop ...

Re: Indietracks 2016 photos and memories

That's in my top 3 Indietracks, without a doubt. Highlights: Deerful - only managed to sneak in to hear the last few songs but that was bloody worth it. Heavenly. The Spook School - good God, after so much despair in 2016, to have them headlining felt like exactly the right response. I was in bits w...
