Re: Nottingham

Hello Nottinghams! I'm coming up for a couple of days next week so that my folks can take me out for a swanky meal. I was wondering if any of yous fancied meeting me in the Peacock on Thursday for some birthday drinkies? Ben and I will be there from about 7pm onwards I guess. Be lovely to see you. I...

Re: Nottingham

Hannah dear, are you still in Nottingham? Or have you already deserted us? Whatever happened to the going away party? I live in London now and have been there every weekend since mid November making a going away party somewhat tricky. I am working my last day in Nottingham today which is very excit...

Re: Nottingham

Wetherspoons definitely isn't taking over the Sir John B...but the current (lovely) chap who has run the Sir John for years is being replaced in the New Year. According to my aunty who does his stocks. *nods*

Re: clothes

Same here...supposedly over the knee socks usually have to be stretched beyond their elastic limit to reach over my knees and then they just fall down all the time. Bums. I do think they look cute on other people though. You could totally pull them off and look super stylish, Sandy.

Re: makeup and cosmetics

Red lipstick can be so tricky, Lauren. I have always struggled to find the right shade as most tend to look too purpley on me and turn me into a goth, when on most people they look lovely and scarlet. Last year for Sam & Lisa's wedding I found a Lancome lip liner called rouge tulipe that is perfect ...

Re: shoes!

They're ace! What about wearing some thick woolly tights with them, in cream or something maybe? I'm hoping that will work...the gap is several inches but I'm hoping it looks kinda cute rather than just baggy. I know I'm not skinny but my ankles are tiny so boots are always a bit of a trauma. But I...

Re: shoes!

I caved and ordered these Kurt Geiger's online yesterday. They've arrived this morning and I do adore them but the lacing is for show - you can't tighten them without creatig a bulky crease of leather underneath - and they are typically HUGE around my ankles/lower legs. Oh. I really wish I could fin...

Re: Nottingham

I missed dancing fun on account of having flu. Fuck my life. Also, a bloke called Rob is moving into my flat tomorrow. The removals men took all of my stuff away to storage today. It looks so strange seeing it empty. The animals were so confused. Poor Millie has gone into the cattery for a month now...

I'm going sir, from London since I'll be living there by then, but my car is already full I'm afraid. See you there. :)

Re: Nottingham

If anyone fancies lunch or cake with me and Ted this Saturday, we will be in the John Lewis cafe from about 12.30. It's my first trip into town with Ted. I'm scared! Aww. I'd well love to meet Ted (and see you as I haven't in ages) but I can't come out to play this weekend as I have to start packin...

Re: hair

A lot of the "hairstylist" branded products are actually made by one of the main manufacturers (Remington, Babyliss, etc). I personally rate my Remington (spin-curl) drier above any other I've used over the years. The attachment is why I bought it, but the hairdryer itself is an absolute gem. Defini...

I'll aim for the same and talk to you later. I don't know Leicester so I will most likely get lost if I try to find it on my own. *whimpers*

Re: makeup and cosmetics

Last week I came back from a festival on Monday night, dropped off the camper at my folks on Tuesday and went on holiday (actually, to a wedding abroad) on Wednesday. It was around midnight Tuesday I realised I'd left all of my make up in the campervan. Argh. My train left before shops opened on Wed...

Thanks, Sam. I'll try to remember to mention it to my mum. Doubt I will though...

James died this afternoon. There was no brain activity so his parents decided to switch the machines off. Everyone's a bit fucked up over it.

'ello. Sorry I made the thread so depressing. There's some relatively good news though. The lad is still alive. Seems he's a fighter. The brain bleed has stopped and they've operated on his mangled legs in the hope that he will regain consciousness. They're going to try to bring him round from the c...

Jesus, this is a shit fuck of a day. There was a big crash on the A453 early this morning. My dad's business partner (ie. my other boss) Rob's son James had to be cut from his car after it collided with an HGV. He's in a coma with severe brain stem damage. Rob and the rest of the family are flying b...

You are very welcome, poppet. I'm just sorry I missed Lisa. Will catch up with you both (all) in a couple of weeks though. And if you decide you need a lift to the hospital...just holler! :)

Re: End of the Road Festival

It wasn't what I'd call cold last year, but when it did cool off at night there was lovely hot spicy cider to make it all right. Make sure you take wellies as the site is prone to being a bit muddy!
