Re: So how do you listen to music now?

it all depends on the time of day/week: Breakfast during the week: WFMU playing out of my phone At work when my boss who hates jazz is out of the office: [/i] Full jazz albums on youtube playing in the background (I've decided it's "Archie Shepp Week" this week. Much to everybody's annoyance, and my...

Re: The Star Wars geek thread

To be honest I was disappointed by the new star wars. For a start the dialogue's entirely in Korean, and the Chinese subtitles take up half the screen.

Re: uncommon instruments

Autoharps always sound great to my ears. Telephone directories were also a big part of the Motown sound early on. They used to get whoever was around to bang on them during recordings to beef up the rhythm. Pop fact! vacuum cleaners are underused though do sound ace. Swell Maps used them to great e...

Re: Corrupt Postman

Other than that, nothing! Remember Fun has an address for "John" and a Larkhall, Lanarkshire address. I bou...

Re: HIPSHAKES! Bristol, Falmouth, London

I drove them to the tuesday gig but didn't actually attend as we couldn't park the van anywhere so i had to park about a mile away and wait til they'd finished. We arrived late anyway. Main band were boring by all accounts, were selling their 7" for £7 and used Hipshakes gear without a word of thank...

Re: Things I am listening to now then

Oh brilliant. The wife bought me that for my birthday some years back. Me and the wife and her best friend are ploughing through a list of 131 diy classics between 78 and 85 which some geek has put up, just google it, and I'm having to dip into the finances to fill in the gaps. Of course the wonder...
