Cleaning CDs - Anyone used one of these?

CDs that have been closest to my bedroom wall have now got mold...otherwise clean, but, some look like they've got a rash... Just wondered if anyone has used one of these... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Philips-Quality-Rotary-CD-DVD-Cleaning-Kit-Disc-Cleaner-Buffer-Fluid-/320839936564?pt=UK_Computi...

Re: Camera Obscura

This will sound great on the radio...and in another universe, could be their first hit single. That said, to be honest, I'm a little underwhelmed. For me, it doesn't have that magic spark...don't get me wrong, I like it, but, had this been the first thing I'd heard by them, I'd have thought 'yeah......

Re: Nnngh, this...COMPUTER! Heeelp!

I'm not running XP at the moment so can't see how to do it but I expect it's in the sound settings. You can also switch to mono from within VLC. I'm not really sure why you want to output in mono. Maybe I've completely misunderstood your post but the simplest thing to do would be to plug your headp...

Re: Nnngh, this...COMPUTER! Heeelp!

Ok...the situation is this. My amp has developed a fault. Only the left channel is working....just needs soldering, I reckon, but, right now, I can't afford to get it done. Do, as a workaround, I'd like to play CDs through the PC (VLC Media Player to be exact). Is there a way I can force windows (XP...

Converting multiple songs ripped from Youtube online?

I need so convert a load of tracks ripped from Youtube (I have then all on vinyl, so not ripping anyone off). They were ripped with Firefox add-on, Flashgot. Is there an online facility that will let me convert a load of files to mp3 at once? The one I use, and al the ones I've seen only let you do ...

Could you be The most irritating band in the world? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fD1KmlnfRYc Reading through the thread before I listened to it, I was expecting something godawful. It's not that bad at all. Ok, I wouldn't BUY it, but,, honestly, there's a lot worse out there. It kind of reminds m...

A website idea - HELP!!!

I have bought my sister an Ikea token for her birthday (she's moving house - it's what she wanted). The website is badly designed (in my opinion, just like many of their products, although I'm sure that many would disagree with me on that). I needed some assistance...and, just like any other corpora...

Re: Crisps

Not sure whether this is true, but, apparantly, the guy who came up with the recipe for Walkers Salt & Vinegar crisps insisted that the packet be coloured green, in tribute to his favourite song, which was Green Onions by Booker T & The MGs, so, the cheese & onion ones were recoloured blue...

I like volume 4 a lot....well, I love what I know and love that there's a fair bit that I don't.

I think I may well compile these and upload when I've got some disc space...

Can't wait for volume 6!!! (I've got 2 more volumes in my head, but, don't want this to all about me)...

Re: bands/records you imagined you'd like more than you do

You know what? I never really got why the Ramones are so revered.

I don't dislike them, and rather like a couple of their songs, but, really don't understand the adulation.

The Clash, I can totally see it, even the Pistols...but, the Ramones...well, they get filed under "they're allright" for me...

Re: gender equality and indiepop

I came across this piece by Deep Time's Jennifer this morning, and thought it'd fit either here or in the feminism thread. Here won. We need to be aware, though, that although things are better than they were in the past and there are more successful female musicians, doesn't mean that women playin...

That's a really good idea :) I don't have everything on the two volumes I compiled, there are a few things that I used to have (taped off Peel etc.), that I would love to have again (Rachel's Tulip, Explained Emma, A Better Mousetrap etc), that don't appear to be anywhere online. Hmmm....I need to c...
