Re: I've got to DJ at a wedding...

Yes! Shake It Off went down a storm at our wedding and was a great moment at Lynsosaurus's too. I don't think we had Come On Eileen but I saw Grandmaster Flash DJ last week and even he sticks it into his set! Hah! I was just coming here to say this very thing. I was in the toilet when Shake It Off ...

Re: The distant islands fantasy travel thread

Just seen this on the excellent Atlas Obscura site: 8 of the world's eeriest abandoned islands: http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/ghost-islands?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=atlas-page Some we're familiar with (albeit not from regular visits), some less so... I might make it my mission to visit ...

Re: The distant islands fantasy travel thread

Shall we go to these on our holidays next year then? I've only been to Cramond Island off that list and it's lovely. We should go next time you're in Edinburgh!

Re: The distant islands fantasy travel thread

Tidal islands kill me - even the temporary ones: http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/supertide-swallows-mont-saint-michel-s-causeway-in-france-1.3004230. And look at those people watching, with their lovely tide-loving faces. Aw. What's everyone doing in 2033? HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS??! I want ...

Yeah, I found quite a few "as new" or reconditioned ones on eBay, might give those a go. Ta!

Re: Breakfast (the most important meal of the day)

The Nutribullet is basically a fancy Magic Bullet, right? I use that thing for everything. Yes I believe it is. But it sounds marginally less like an adult toy. Hah! Do you have the actual Nutribullet one? I really want to get something along those lines but they're pretty pricey, right? I'm starti...

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian Food

I was soliciting recipes for vegetarian haggis (specifically mushroom-free haggis) the other day. I may share my received wisdom with you (if I can find the links).

I'm with you on that.

I haven't listened to the new album at all, except for a couple of chance hearings of one song. I'll buy it when I get paid though!

I'm half tempted by that Hydro show but I can't get my head around the concept.

Re: Mexican food

OHHH MYYY GODDD. R can't eat Quorn, sadly, BUT I CAN. I've just been playing about with different fresh and dried chiles to see how the heat and flavour varies. The dried or smoke-dried ones tend to have more depth of flavour than the fresh ones (so using chipotle is a bit more interesting than usin...

Re: Mexican food

I have a while back, but I can't remember what I did. They were tasty though! From what I recall, it's basically a lot of mashing and frying and some spices. I think Mexican food is my favourite food of all. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. I've been experimenting with this one aubergine and...

Re: TV Quick: talk about things on telly succinctly

I quite like Nolan but I think I'd probably like him more if I could get over how ridiculously easy it seems to be for him to hack everything and anything. He just does some fast typing and makes a few faces and he's sorted. I quite liked that lass that Daniel used to go out with and then cheated on...

How exciting! What's your new job? I can't think of anyone looking for a flatmate off the top of my head but will post on Facebook and see if anyone has a room on the go and report back. What sort of pubs do you like generally? I don't go out much at weekends as my partner has his kids then but I ha...

Re: Breakfast (the most important meal of the day)

Oh, and I had vegetarian black pudding for Christmas Day breakfast (with a scrambled egg). Alright but a bit on the heavy side. Made with pearl barley and grains. I am interested in this concept. Was it pretty much just like veggie haggis? I'm giving up eating meat for the most part and I need some...
