Re: The weather pessimism thread

Current reports suggest a biblical deluge in the early hours of Saturday morning. Why oh why am I camping again this year? Otherwise maybe a few showers during Sunday. Don't worry, our tent will keep you dry! Anyway the deluge has now moved to Friday evening - just in time for all the bands on the ...

Re: Alfreton Travelodge

So I've done camping, I've done Ripley Premier Inn, I've done self-catering cottage things, and now I'm doing Alfreton Travelodge. Anyone else? Tell me everything I need to know! It's a pleasant walk to and from Midland Station. Whilst by no means world class customer service, the Little Chef is ok...

Re: Indietracks 2016 photos and memories

This was only my second time attending (sadly, it normally clashes with Tramlines) but I think it's easy to overlook what makes Indietracks so good. It's such a nice atmosphere compared to any other festival I've been to. It also feels very inclusive, friendly and accepting. Highlights Spook School ...

Re: Indietracks 2012 - the press reviews

If you publish something, you should always be ready to get someone complaining about it. We all like to complain! Criticism can be good though. No one should really take any of it personally (unless it is personal!)

Re: Indietracks 2012 - the press reviews

I wrote the Saturday part of that review. Three points I'd like to make: The bands I chose to focus on are purely the ones I watched an entire set and made the best notes for. No ageism. Missed The June Brides, sorry, but I did enjoy 'Phil Wilson of the June Brides' when I shared a bill with you at...

Re: Indietracks 2012 - the press reviews

Hatch'd magazine review - http://hatchdmagazine.co.uk/music/review-indietracks-2012 Makes me a bit cross, too. No old folks, other than the Vaselines, of course. Who are OK to mention because of Kurt. Searching for the new is essential, of course, but ignoring where the new stuff has its roots seem...

Re: Indietracks 2012 - the press reviews

Yeah, I don't really care if someone thinks that Slumberland is the name of the Evans the Death album if they've had a good time. Almost universally positive reviews this time round. oops, corrected. In my defence I wrote 5000 words over the weekend and just did a quick check on Google and the conc...
