The Leaf Library album launch The Lexington London 22/11/15

The Leaf Library will be performing their album 'Daylight Versions' in full with whichever guests we can cajole along joining in (maybe you'll see members of Amor de Dias and the Drink and Singing Adams and the Left Outsides and I'm bound to have forgotten someone now. Sorry.) And! Also playing are ...

Amazing tour video here:

(This should probably go in a thread about watching endless timelapse videos of American highways, seeing as the band are barely in it)

Re: Manchester

http://www.portstreetbeerhouse.co.uk/ sounds pretty good. I've not drank anywhere in Manchester other than Sinclair's, the Star & Garter and the Roadhouse in the past 5 years though.

The Roadhouse has changed in that time.

Re: I'd like to buy a record player... recommendations?

I bought a Rega RP1 last year and it's great, though I was upgrading from a 12yr-old Maplin SL1200-copy, so they're not really comparable.

A stylus has a finite lifespan, but if you don't use it often it'll take longer to wear out..

Who let Ray play a Brian May guitar and why? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GuBccGJhPU&feature=youtu.be I seem to remember reading a tour diary type piece in Select, where Ray said he got that guitar simply because it was the least-cool guitar ever. http://www.teenagefanclub.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.p...

Not to be confused (as I kind of just did) with Jon Otsemobor, who was shot in the arse in a Liverpool bar.

Re: yo la tengo

sorry for my slightly sarky post earlier. I wouldn't say they were bad albums, but I just never feel like listening to them. If I want YLT I'll go for Painful or ICHTHBAO or ATNTIO or Summer Sun or Fakebook or even Prisoners of Love. They were a bit disappointing last time I saw them as well (MBVATP...

Re: yo la tengo

the first one has a fantastic opening track and 'hey mr tough' which is also pretty good. I don't remember anything else about it. I don't remember anything at all about the last one, other than I bought a vinyl copy at a Roundhouse gig and there wasn't a download code in it. I guess I have played i...

Re: Stone Roses

Is the one in the middle at the back Andy Cousens from The High? I once worked with someone who (allegedly) worked in Liverpool Our Price with the guy in the red coat, who was Mani's predecessor I think. Yep, back row: Reni, Andy Couzens, Pete Garner, front row: Ian Brown, John Squire. The first si...

Odd you should say that. In a complete non-sequitur, I was on See Hear on the telly this week.
My workplace was on it last week, supposedly (we all forgot to watch it).

Re: It's terrific by train

Has anyone been on the Pickering to Whitby line before? Yep, 25 (!) years ago. I don't remember much of it, tbh. We ate fish and chips in Whitby. I was really impressed by the radar golfballs at Fylingdale but I'm not sure if I saw those from the train or if we drove past them another day. I don't ...
